SOLVED! Book about heroin addict in early mid 70's. [s]

It's been a long time since I've read this book. Possibly the early 1980's. The book was fairly old when I got it... I assume published in the early to mid-1970's.

The book is about a Berlin heroin addict, and is written in first person. It IS possible that it is a true-story, or based on a true story, but I can't be sure. I specifically remember the main character (a female) mentioning that she lived on yogurt because that was the only thing she could keep down most of the time. I'm pretty sure she had a boyfriend (also an addict) named Peter (or something similar to that.) She and her friends would often visit disco's and she was a huge Ziggy Stardust/David Bowie fan.

That's all I got! I read this book many times as a teen. Eventually the book fell apart... I'd love to read it again to see if it is as good as I remember.

It's probably too obvious, but could it be Christiane F: Autobiography of a Girl of the Streets and Heroin Addict? It has also been published under other titles, which sometimes referenced the Berlin zoo.
It's a true story, and it took place in the 70s. There are Bowie and a disco, but the boyfriend is called Detlef.
