Galina's ability is hereditary, but from which side of her family genes it comes from has always remained a mystery that she had no need to solve. Her variant allows her such an ability, and has been keeping her alive for a very long time. The actual time period by which she was born in hasn't been clear, nor will it be clear until she has seen the time to be right, or when she remembers. Part of the side effects of her variant is a heavy strain on the body both mentally and physically, and takes a heavy toll on memory, as well. It may seem like a small gap is missing with every amount of a life taken, when in reality, it's a lifetime replaced with another, and another, and another.
