I can't really think of anything in my life that requires a profound enough change that would merit that luck. No romantic, health related or competetive reasons anyway.

I suppose if I had access to it I would make an excuse to use it, like go for a better job or just go on an entirely unrelated adventure. I think even just a day wandering around my city would be a lot of fun :)

Competitions, tests/school assignments, etc.; I'd want to get through those situations on my own merits, not a potion. But if something medical came along, like a disease or necessary surgery (i.e. heart or other organ transplant), and I couldn't control the outcome, I might want a little reassurance that I'd come out again.

Lets also not forget that - by the way it behaves in the story - the felix felicis doesn't seem to be necessarily directable.

You might drink it on the day of an important exam, and felix convinces you to skip school and blunder into good fortune somewhere else.

I'm not sure I'd risk it on something important if it's going to make me head to the beach instead of finishing an important project or do my exams or finish writing my book. I'd probably take it if I were on a beach already so my beach day would be perfect.
