The Point of View (we'll just use POV for ease) is a little different in Darkfever then in most books I've read. We are hearing the story in 1st person, from MacKayla, but she is telling it in past tense and gives hints to future events.

For example: "Later I would look back on the next few days as the last normal ones of my life, though at the time they seemed anything but" (Chapter 6)

What do you think about the POV in Darkfever? What's your favorite POV?

Alright - I had to go do some research because there's a special POV when you can hear the main characters thoughts. It's called: Stream-Of-Consciousness Narrative Mode. My high school english teacher would be so dissapointed I didn't remember it!

This is my favorite POV, like Darkfever, especially when the character is sarcastic. I love a good laugh from sarcastic thoughts - probably b/c I'm a VERY sarcastic person myself.

I haven't decided what I think about the past-tense reflections used in Darkfever. I don't necessarily dislike it but I wonder if there would be more suspense without it. Although it does make me curious to see what MacKayla is referring to. See, totally undecided.

Elena I like it. It adds suspense for me. I also feel more connected with the character "listening" to her reflections.
