The Program ending.

Did anyone else feel like the end of this book was really forced?
From the moment Sloane and James go to the lake, everything is rushed and sort of awkward. It is like the author wanted the memories to repeat and the characters to fall in love, but she didn't know how to do it. She kind of just threw in some important moments without any prompt, and all of a sudden they were in love. Then that final scene with Rhealm's sister is this weird dialogue and awkward wrapping up of the novel.
Not to mention the epilogue that indicates that every single person in the program was there as a prop, which is really weird when you think about it.
I need someone to discuss my conflicted feelings with.

I thought it worked really well and am really pleased. I rated it 4/5 though because I wish Sloane fought back during Part 2. But still it was great and I believe it all worked perfectly well. Can't wait to read The Treatment!

I agree, but I do think that it was necessary. It was building towards the next book. I found epilogue weird though. How is it supposed to be a program when all of the clients aren't actually clients? **random thoughts**

i just want to know am I the only one who thought allie was sloane?

Carter I think the idea was definitely to create some sort of Deja Vu, but I agree and think that the idea was to show how Realm must be feeling. I think it ...more

I enjoyed this book but the repetition of events seemed a lot like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind to me.

i thought that the ending was a bit faster than the set up but i can understand why. the thing to remember is that they need to really set it up for a 'rebellion' to be realistic and for there to be a need for Sloane and James to be 'on the run' - so i'm not surprised.

what gets me though is that there were some really fast introductions of characters in the story especially towards the end that made me wonder what's going to happen. for example, was Realm ever really in the program or is he just there to get things moving for the better cause? what about his sister? i don't think that we ever heard of one. what about the network of folks that Realm has workign for him?

and then there's the whole memory thing - and what's going to happen with the happy couple.

what i found to be interesting and kind of rushed a bit is that Sloane and Lacey found each other quickly when they were 'returned' and then they came across James. makes you wonder if there's going to be some bigger story line later where they find that the drugs aren't sticking...

The ending left me confused, I really wish that she just didn't write but than when I really think about I'm glad she did. It seems a bit hard to believe that for every person who is depressed there is this whole program designed specifically for them. I've only just read The Program so hopefully it will start coming together in The Treatment.

i read the program like 8 months ago and thought it was really great except now i cant really say what i thought about the ending because i would have to reread the book

but for those of u who have not yet read the treatment i would defiantly suggest it 2 u (after i read the program i honestly like could not wait for the treatment to come out and for my mom to buy it for me )

I agree. There was less connection between Sloane and James . They just suddenly fell in love like nothing happened. And more like the second book will be mainly about Realm (just concluding from the epilogue)

I just like that they appear to be going to Montana!

I felt the ending was a bit sad because it's a cycle for Realm and he got used to Sloane. I did think it a bit weird that they (referring to the boys playing cards) were all in on it. The Program then is just tricking one person into thinking they aren't the only ones going through with it. I'm on the fence about how to feel about Realm because I feel like he has good intentions but he's still lying.

I confused on the epilogue. Who is Allison is it sloane?
