I was wanting post a link to something cool that I thought you guys would be interested in, but couldn't figure out where I ought to put it. So I figured a new thread was in order. =)

Use this thread to let everyone know if you've found something cool that people might want to check out. Like ebook sales or giveaways or whatever.

I just found out that Lyndsay Faye has a sequel to The Gods of Gotham coming out this September. And! There's a Goodreads giveaway going on right now (ending Monday!)!

I know there are quite a few fans in this group after we read it last year. So go check it out if you're interested =) Seven for a Secret

Any of you who are also on Laurie's newsletter mailing list will probably have seen this already, but check this out!

Laurie's son and brother-in-law worked with Laurie to produce this fun teaser video for The Bones of Paris: A Novel of Suspense; "a short film about four 1929 Montparnasse denizens." The book isn't actually about these four people, but the film gives you an idea of what may be driving the plot. ;-)

I've posted the video in our videos section:

I'm really curious what you all think. Extra excited for the book release? Start a thread, if you're in the mood to get chatting about Bones early! =)

These candles and wax melting tabs look great. Favorite books of mine featured--Harry Potter, The Hobbit, and Outlander. I may order some of the tabs for my wax melters.

I totally ordered these back in April, LOL! I got Sherlock's Study, The Shire, Dumbledore's Office and Bookstore.

Kathy (readr4ever) | 399 comments Oops, I meant to add Sherlock to the favorites I mentioned. I will be ordering some for sure.

Looking for a great summer read, and the first in a series along the lines of Ms. King's, the late Barbara Mertz's (aka Elizabeth Peters), and Daniel Silva's work?

Check out WHEN CAMELS FLY (http://amzn.to/1v6R3Se), rated 4.2 stars on Goodreads and 4.7 stars on Amazon. This contemporary suspense novel introduces Grace Madison, who describes herself as "an archaeologist of mature vintage — the plodding type."

Fancy a look at the back cover copy? Here you go!

A mother's fatal shot. A daughter's deadly choice.

In Israel, archaeologist Grace Madison shoots her daughter's abductor moments before a handsome shepherd drops from the sky to kill a second assassin. Running for their lives, the women pursue an evil prepared to sacrifice millions of people. Endangering family and friends while confronting old loves, they soon realizer nothing is as it seems. Even each other.

Because choosing what's right is all that's left.

Camel up! NLBH

Hey friends! For anyone who really enjoyed our discussion of The Innocent by Taylor Stevens a couple of months back, she has a new book in the series out next week and there's a pretty massive giveaway going on here on Goodreads. Check it out!

Watson and Holmes - A Study In Black

I'm guessing most people here are Holmes and Watson fans as well as mystery fans. This graphic novel is an excellent take on both. I really enjoyed it & am curious to know what others think.

That popped up on my recommendation feed from Amazon, but I haven't picked it up yet. It does look like an interesting new take on the duo.

Mac Daly (macdaly) | 2 comments I was watching the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson last night, and he was holding up Bones of Paris and said he was planning on reading it after the show. Nice shout out for a good book. (It was a repeat, and I'm not sure when the original aired, but that means the book got at least two mentions.)

Mac, I remember hearing about that when it happened (I didn't see it as I am never up that late, lol) - it was a great plug for a terrific book. And glad to hear that it was repeated and doubtless reached even more folks!

How cool! I wonder what prompted the mention if he hadn't read it yet.

Well, part of it is that Ferguson's "sidekick" was Geoffrey the robot skeleton, and a skeleton would naturally be interested in a book entitled "The Bones of Paris."

As I noted in the Announcements column, the Random House giveaway seems to be slipping under the radar of a lot of people--can I ask you guys to spread the word during its last few days? The grand prize is an iPad mini loaded with my books plus hardbacks and the Dreaming Haiku poster, really nice prizes. The signup closes Friday, here's where:
