I agree, especially since there are probably repeats as some books stay free, I get tons of emails a day about free books and kindle.. For Zom books!

Netanella | 2108 comments Anyone's who's willing to mod a BOTM, stick her neck out, and chat us up on this group has my support as well.

Meghan, sorry I joined the BOTM this month for the Governor Part 2 (or 4), but I'm a little OCD about reading books in sequence, and I haven't read the first several books in the series. (Not to say that Sarah didn't encourage me to do so a few reading challenges ago!)

That's ok I'm going to put up a summary for the last three books so that this book is understandable :) thanks

I am still around, I have just been really busy lately. I usually try and get on to do updates while at work but the last couple months have been busy.

Sara | 94 comments Is there going to be a BOTM for June? I can't find a nomination thread or poll......

message 59: by Netanella (new)

Netanella | 2108 comments What about running a nomination poll or thread for a week or two in June, and then the reading/discussion for the last couple of weeks in June?

Either that, or we can just go with the runner up from last month...

Anybody? Buehler? Buehler?

message 60: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresatheterrible) What was the runner up from last month? Cause failing all else, we could read Deadlands Harvest....

message 61: by Sara (new)

Sara | 94 comments That sounds good...and in keeping with the discussion of making June "sequel month".

message 62: by Karen (new)

Karen | 612 comments Can you read the Deadlands Harvest without reading the first book & still follow the story? I have the first one but haven't read it yet..

message 63: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresatheterrible) I would guess ya probably could...although it may be better to read the first one first. However, in Dante's original, you didn't necessarily need to read them in order...

Thanks,I'll read them in order then

message 65: by Netanella (new)

Netanella | 2108 comments I'd vote for Deadlands Harvest.

Our runner up last month was White Trash Zombie

message 66: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresatheterrible) Really? I didn't know it came that close to winning! I do love that book, but I also really wanna read Deadlands Harvest. Maybe we could ask the group which they'd rather read?

message 67: by Netanella (last edited May 29, 2014 04:53AM) (new)

Netanella | 2108 comments Nevermind - egg on my face! I looked at the wrong poll!

The one for May is here: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...

Runner up last month was Dark Recollections by Chris Philbrook
Dark Recollections (Adrian's Undead Diary #1) by Chris Philbrook

Sara | 94 comments It doesn't seem like we have the mod support to do a BOTM poll. Maybe we should just plan on Deadlands Harvest as a Buddy Read?

On a related note to the mods...
With all due respect, is there any way we can get back on a regular schedule with the BOTM nominations/polls? I understand people get busy with life, but it sucks to have to ask each month for these things to happen.

Mod note: I have been exceptionally busy over the last couple months and haven't been able to support this as much as I would like (and June doesn't look any better).

As for keeping BOTM on track, if there is an interested party willing and able to take on this endeavor, just message us and it can be arranged. Not everything needs to be generated by the mods. Netanella runs some monthly challenges. If you have programs you'd like to initiate or run, let us know (we will probably say yes).

message 70: by Sara (new)

Sara | 94 comments Perfect. We need access to the polls, as only mods can create them at present.

Polls are unlocked.

Karen | 612 comments I would love to read Deadlands Harvest for the book of the month.I am half way through 100 days & am really enjoying it.

I have previously volunteered, but I think I got a no...? Not sure what happened there..I was all excited too.

Meghan,
I'm a bit confused about what you volunteered for? I do know Netanella has created a separate thread with nominations and a poll for the June BOTM and individuals are making nominations.

message 75: by Netanella (new)

Netanella | 2108 comments Hey there,

Meghan is referencing Post 48 above - she volunteered to be a mod with you and Elizabeth for this awesome Zombies! group.

I think it would be great to get some "fresh blood" into this group to keep it alive (or undead!). I'm not a mod, so I can't make her one. If we voted on something like this, I would vote Meghan in!

I'll talk to Elizabeth about it. I had forgotten about the post since I haven't been able to be on here much.

message 77: by Netanella (new)

Netanella | 2108 comments Which is why having a 3rd mod would be a great idea ;)

Yes Jim I did also nominate a book for June BOTM and last month I ran The Rise of theGov Part 2 for BOTM.

But I did offer to be a moderator and Elizabeth said she would get back to me...but I think you were busy. Here is what Elizabeth messaged me :

Thank you for the offer to become a co-Moderator. I'm still waiting to hear back from Jim - I'll give him a few more days to respond, and then just make a decision on my own. I know he's very busy at work right now, so this may just be a brief hiatus.

Thanks
