"Andrew please, I don't have anywhere to stay." She improvised, and started crying. She knew he couldn't resist a crying girl.

"Check next door, the guy there is always looking for a girl," he said, going into the bedroom and sitting down beside Calla. He stroked her hair.
She made a face and left, planning to come back later. Calla felt him and woke up. "Hi." She whispered.
He smiled. "Hey. How'd you sleep?"
She smiled. "Good. How was it outside?" She asked, knowing he went to do stuff.
"Good until Ruby showed up," he said. "She's more annoying than ever."
"Ruby? The girl in high school?" She asked him nervously.
He nodded. "Yep. Thats the one. I actually had to come inside and lock the door to get her away."

but when I look behind me it's there so I run faster and faster . When I'm with friends life
slows down but it's still there

Andrew shrugged. "Trying to get me back," he said. "I think her hair is shielding her head from understanding I'm not interested."
She smiled slightly. "Well please don't let her have you." She said softly.
He hugged her. "No worries. I won't."
She hugged him back. "Okay good." She said softly.
He kissed her lightly. "Come on, let's make lunch."
She nodded and got up and followed him.
He went into the kitchen with her.
She saw Ruby outside the window. "She's even prettier then before." She said softly, a little uncomfortable.
He kissed her softly, wrapping his arms around her. "I think you're more beautiful than she will ever be. Beauty is measured on more than just the surface."
She blushed. "Thank you. But she's gorgeous. She has the body and just the everything..." She said softly.
"But she isn't you," he said. "You have everything she does and more."
He nodded, smiling. "I mean it."
She kissed him softly. "Thank you." She whispered.
He smiled and kissed her back. "What do you think about my world-famous cheese cappelletti?"
She smiled. "I don't think I've tried it." She said to him.
He gasped over-dramatically. "Well now you have to!" he stepped back, getting out ingredients.
She giggled. "Sounds good!" She said, and wrapped an arm around him.
He kissed her cheek. "I make all my sauce from scratch, we make the pasta here, and all the cheese is from the good place in the market."
"That's awesome." She said with a smile. "Can I help?" She asked him.
He nodded. "Do you want to grate the cheese for me? I already cut how much that needs to be shredded."
"Okay." She said, and started to grate it.
He made the sauce at the same time as he cooked the pasta.
"It tastes even better," he said, stirring the cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
She smiled and looked out the window, seeing Ruby sitting on a bench outside. She sighed, feeling uncomfortable.
He took her hand. "We can make it an all-night campout. She gives up easily."
He put their food together before putting it on their plates.
She smiled and helped. She looked out at Ruby again. "Why don't we just invite her in?" She asked, wanting to do the good thing.
He sighed. "I don't want to... She's rude and I don't want anything to do with her."
"But she's out there all alone, just for dinner." She said to him.
He sighed. "I was going to call the guy next door to invite her for dinner..."
"Look... things ended really badly between her and I," he said, looking down at the food. "She's just waiting for the first opportunity to take me back and humiliate you in the process. I won't let her do that."
She bit her lip. "Okay then... I'm sorry. But I won't let her humiliate me. I have no shame anymore." She said to him.
He wrapped his arms around her. "This is how I'm looking at it. We both waited long enough to finally be together... now we're planning our wedding. I'm not giving up everything we have over a bitchy, manipulative ex."
