She flinched. "Don't touch me.""Do you want to do something you actually want to do?" he asked.
He pulled his hand away. "Sorry." He said to her.A slow song came on and she saw everyone dancing. She sighed, wanting to do that but she thought he wouldn't. "No I'm fine." She said softly.
"It's alright," she said, starting to walk faster. He led her to where everyone was dancing. "Are you sure?"
He caught up. "Hey, just dance with me?" He asked her.She looked at the people dancing then back up at him. She nodded slowly. "Yes I'm sure." She said softly, but you could see in her eyes she wanted to dance.
She thought about it. "Alright."He put his hands on her waist. "Dance with me?"
He smiled and brought her to the dancing area, placing his hands on her waist.She looked up at him and nodded, wrapping her arms around his neck.
She carefully placed her hands on his shoulders, but adjusted the strap of her dress when it fell and exposed a big dark bruise.He danced with her.
He saw the bruise. "What was that?" He asked her, furrowing his brows.She smiled softly and looked down. She was as red as a tomato.
"That involves telling you something that nobody else knows," she said.He smiled. "Relax a little."
"Okay." He said to her softly.She blushed even deeper, looking up at him.
"Just... not here okay?" she said. "It'll all be okay," he said.
"Where?" He asked her curiously.She smiled softly and nodded.
She looked around. "I'll show you." She led him out.When the song ended he still held her.
He followed her, eager to find out.She looked up at him and moved a bit closer.
She led him to the hay loft in the stables, where her fiance never went. He caressed her cheek.
He followed her. "This is where I work." He said to her.She smiled and her eyes fluttered.
"I know, and he hates coming up here," she said.He smiled. "Wanna go wander?" he murmured.
"Who does?" He asked her.She smiled softly and nodded.
She sighed. "My fiance, Prince Derek."He offered her his arm.
He looked at her and furrowed his brows. "What?" He asked, confused.She smiled and took his arm softly.
She sighed. "You know how it's all over the news that the king's daughter is marrying Prince Derek from the neighboring kingdom..."He wandered around the gardens with her, walking at her pace.
"Yeah. So that means..." He said, trailing off. He looked up at her.She smiled and looked up at him. "I don't think I got your name." She said to him.
She sighed. "Yeah... I'm the king's daughter... " she whispered. She didn't sound happy about it. "My name is Andrew," he said. "I'm the stable manager's son."
"You're the princess." He said to her, stunned. "I'm so sorry, you're majesty." He said, and bowed."That's nice. I guess you know who I am." She said with a small smile.
"Don't do that," she said. "Being royal isn't all it appears to be."He nodded. "Definitely," he said.
"Wait, but that doesn't explain the bruise." He said to her.She smiled and took his hand softly.
"That would be what that prick I'm supposed to marry gave to me last night after a few drinks," she said sourly.He laced his fingers through hers, smiling a bit.
He looked at her. "Oh my god... I'm so sorry." He said to her softly.She smiled up at him, looking at the stars above his head.
She sighed. "He's done worse... he's temperamental, rude, horrible, bratty..."He ran his free hand through his hair.
"Your majesty... I'm so sorry." He said to her. "Tell the king." He said to her.She looked up at him and then blushed, looking down.
"Stop calling me that," she said, wiping her eyes. "And I can't, nobody listens. Nobody sees.""What's wrong?" he asked.
"You should tell someone." He said to her.She looked at him, her hair in her face. "Nothing." She said to him.
"I can't," she said. "I've tried. People don't believe me.""Are you sure?" he asked. "I promise I won't tell."
"I-I'm so sorry..." He said to her.She sighed. "I just... Feel really alone lately." She said sadly.
She wiped her eyes again. "It's alright."He pulled her into a hug. "That's very sad for someone as lovely as you."
He moved over and wiped her eyes for her.She blinked, surprised. "I-I'm used to it though..." She said softly.
She laid her head on his shoulder. "That's not a good thing," he said.
He stroked her hair softly.She shrugged and looked down again.
After a while she started crying."I'm serious," he said. "Why don't you stop by the stables sometimes? I'm always available."
"Oh no... Please don't cry." He said softly.She looked up at him. "Alright... Maybe I will." She said to him/
"I can't help it," she whispered when she was done. "It's been a while since somebody's been willing to listen."He smiled. "Have you ever been a horse?"
"I'll listen to anything." He said to her."No I've never been a horse." She said with a small smile.
She kissed his cheek. "Thank you.""There's a first time for everything then," he said. "I promise it's not as scary as it looks."
He smiled softly. "It's no trouble." He said to her.She bit her lip. "Alright. When do you want me to come over?" She asked him.
She sighed. "I have to go back soon..." "Whenever you want to," he said.
He sighed. "Alright. I'm very sorry Alice. Please come and see me again if you can, I'll be here." He said to her softly.She smiled and nodded. "Okay. Thank you so much for everything." She said to him.
"I'll probably be here a lot," she whispered, looking down. He kissed her hand. "Any time."
"I'll be here every time." He said to her softly.She blushed and smiled. She heard another slow dance go on back by her house.
She smiled. "Thank you for that.""Do you want to dance here?" he asked.
She looked down. "So..." She said softly.
