That would be fantastic. See how the team functions without her and see how long it will take Roarke to get to her - cause, he WILL figure out how to find her.

Say an old enemy of Roarke's that not only get's Eve but his mother's twin too????

This is why I liked Thankless so much, as it was so different.

That would be great!

I thought this one was a little boring. I loved the Mavis moments where her story was really revealed for the first time and Eve's obvious emotional growth moments ..."
I totally agree with your review on this one. This one was a bit flat.
Whew! I'm feeling a little less guilty. I can count on one hand the number of books in this series that I've rated 3 stars. It's hard for me to do.

I cried at those same times too. It's great to capture those emotions on paper and make you feel them as well. I did think it was weak in the plot for mystery but the extra star I gave was for the characters (Mavis, Eve, and Roarke). Those moments involving them were special. And Bella too. I could imagine her following aunt Das around once she starts walking, and talking everyone's ears off! :)
I think Eve and Roarke need to babysit for a whole night! Oh the hilarity.

Oh yes! That would be icing on the cake. Eve and Roarke staring at one another, no clue what to do. This should be a novella instead of just one scene hehe.

lmao! That was hilarious. And Eve agreeing to the name. Her flirting with Roarke was too cute. That baby is learning fast!

It may be too close to back when Eve first learned about Marlena--remember, the book where we learn that Roarke killed all of the men involved in Marlenas murder and the murders that Eve was solving coincided with those because it was the son of one of the "victims".
Now that Eve and Roarke are all settled in their relationship I would love love LOVE if one of the plots would somehow tie in to his background as a thief or a smuggler. We all know that he wouldn't go down for it and Eve can handle it but I think that would be interesting to read. But, I think that Roarke is way to clever for that...
Anyway, about this one. I think that ever since NY to Dallas happened something about the books have been a bit off. They haven't been as funny or the characterizations have been weird. I don't know. Don't get me wrong---I love them! But, the past few books have been more meh than AMAZING!!
You may have something there. It could be that everything really interesting and elusive about Eve was exposed in that book and we are now dealing with the anti climax.
Maybe it's time to also start exploring some of the secondary characters.
Maybe it's time to also start exploring some of the secondary characters.

I guess i'm more character driven and tend to look forward to the interaction between characters which i felt lacking in Concealed. But there were scenes that were compelling eg Mavis's back story, also loved that little scene with Dennis Mira with the cap and gloves (*sigh* he's such a sweety), and Bella is so adorable!
Don't get me wrong I still love the series, Eve and Roarke is the ultimate couple but I want MORE!!

You know, I feel like we haven't seen Eve's diamond mentioned in awhile. Maybe what we need is a great big fight between Eve and Roarke. I feel like we haven't had one in a while---I hate it when my kids fight but, when they do, there are always awesome character scenes with Eve and her girls.
I'm listening to Interlude in Death right now and my plot idea has already happened! Some old cop guy has Roarke in his sights.

The murder investigation wasn't really the most enjoyable one she's written but I still enjoyed figuring out the clues and seeing how she was going to figure out who did it.
I'm not sure I'm a fan of the new Dr in town and I'm not sure I'm ready for Morris to have a new love interest yet.
I'm with you about the new doc. Maybe their just going to be good colleagues. She doesn't seem his type.

I'm not sure about DeWinter yet. I think she could be a good addition in regard to butting heads with Eve and solving the cases. Although, there probably won't be too much of a need for her specialty. At least I hope not!
Oh, and can I just say how much I LOVE that the book started out with Roarke and his crew! The discovery of the bones was sad and made me shiver but having it be Roarke to call Eve in was a nice twist.

I agree!

Yes, I love that we learned more about Mavis!

As many of you have mentioned, the scenes with Mr. Mira were so sweet and wonderful. I love the softness he brings out in Eve.
I also really enjoyed the sweeter and more peaceful moments between Roarke and Eve. They continue to grow as a couple and I love it! The things that used to freak Eve out so much (like Christmas) are now mostly enjoyable to her.

We've had a few discussions about Roarke & Eve having children. As I've said before, when the series finally has to end, I hope Eve is pregnant in the last book. I would dearly love to see/hear Roarke when Eve tells him she's expecting their child.

If Nora wanted to spread it out it could be like--she finds out she's pregnant at the end of one book and the next book we have over protective Roarke telling Eve (not talking to her) that she has to quit the force to which she says pshaw. I do what I want, fool. And then he would design some super cool protective gear for the pregnant cop on the go and then in the next book Eve learning/realizing that she really really can't be in the field pregnant (I have no idea if there's a law/rule (there probably is) about being pregnant and being in the field but the idea of having a baby is scaring her so she keeps putting filing for desk duty or whatever off. And then! One day while she's still pretty early in her pregnancy she's chasing some guy and realizes that she has to physically take him down but she can't because BABY so she has to slow down and let Peabody do it. So she's symbollically passing the torch down to Peabody, And then we spend the rest of the book on Eve's pregnancy as she learns how to be a desk riding LT instead of a in the field LT. And I have obviously over thought this! But, I would like an ultimate ending like that. But it's Nora's world!
We have an entire thread devoted to the baby storyline...I should find it so you can add these thoughts....
Here it is!! It's a topic that deserves it's own, separate discussion:)

And a few pages later when Roarke hugs Mavis and says. " You're family." If I hadn't been at work on my lunch hour, I would have shed a few tears.

This was just an average rating for me, the mystery wasn't great. It was great that she can still keep things fresh and different. This book kind of felt like "I want to play around with new characters" and the case lended itself to these new characters.
Maybe a little sidekick for Nadine in there!
