Dee (austhokie) | 897 comments books are not removed from the database - when the new editions become available we can upload their info and combine with the current records

(Dee is correct about never deleting published editions [see http://www.goodreads.com/help/show/22...] but recently they did change policy to allow a brief plain text addition to description that an edition no longer available per the first link.)

Sandi Think of the readers who spent time and effort rating and reviewing those books. If the books were deleted they would be gone from their bookshelves, along with their reviews. That's why out of print editions stay on the site. Your new editions will get combined with the old editions, and readers can shelf the edition they have read.

If the content changed significantly, and not just the cover, it can be a new entry, independent of the old version.
