As much as I love Nora's stories, there are times when she creates a character I just have a tough time bonding with, sometimes even liking! It doesn't happen so much with her heroes as it does with her heroines but I have a couple.

Do you have a most unwanted list?

Nikki | 9 comments Hey Jonetta, good topic though I can't think of too many unwanted heroines/heroes. Even Margo for that matter. Simply love what Nora writes but I didn't like the heroine in The Search. I think she was named Sarah?

Margo from the Dream Trilogy didn't annoy me so much as I couldn't connect with her. She reminded me of women I'd met in my past that I really didn't care for...it was a bad connection.

Maggie Concannon from Born in Fire isn't one of my favorites, either. Now she did annoy me! I found her a little too prickly.

Mary | 22 comments Really, Maulika? Well, I honestly enjoyed Convincing Alex and both Bess and Alex's characters.... I remember that while reading it I would catch myself smiling, you know, at some scenes.

Samantha (samswindle) | 68 comments I never cared for Margo either. She seemed a lot spoiled and grated on my nerves. I couldn't connect or relate to her at all.

I did however like Maggie Concannon. She is definitely prickly and annoying, but I keep thinking about how she stood on the cliffs with her father dying in her arms. She was so strong to be able to handle that and move forward. Losing my own father was hard enough, but to have been alone with him with her heart breaking is more than I think nost of us could take. And by the 3rd story in the trilogy, we see her begin to mellow. She'll always take up for her family and bring the negative energy away from them and put it on herself, which I see as loving--even though it makes her appear 'not so nice'.

Margo Sullivan from Dream for me, she just came off as so shallow and uncaring of other's feelings, even when she was settled with Josh.
Ripley from Three Sisters Island also annoyed me, always grumpy and bitchy for no good reason.

For the guys, I'd have to say Simon from The Search. I don't like when a hero says "You're not beautiful/Not that good looking" to his woman not only once but repeatedly, and he actually had the nerve to get angry for falling for Fiona - after he ingratiated himself in her life.

I've heard many complain about Ripley and I get why. She just didn't irritate me enough:)

Simon...I kept going back and forth with him, primarily for the reasons you list, Talya. I landed with him being "okay" but pretty far down my list of favorites.

I wish I had collected my thoughts about Margo as well as you did. My feelings EXACTLY!

Quynh (quynh_o) | 218 comments Ha. I love Ripley because of her fiery temper/attitude. Her relationship with Mia (cats and dogs if you wanna think of it that way) stems from their past, which was pretty significant to change the two once best friends. I'm not too sure who were my least favorite or most annoying. I'll have to think of it some more.

Nikki | 9 comments Thanks Maulika :-) Just couldn't remember her name.

Nikki | 9 comments Yes Quynch I loved Ripley too! and Maggie from Born in Fire. Guess I like fiery tempramental characters :-P

Well, of course we can't connect with all the characters we read about!! It's understandable. You're right, Mikhail and Sydney's story was also great!
