Catherine Mayo | 14 comments I've really enjoyed Lindsey Davies' Falco series, set in Ancient Rome, and just come across the first Steven Saylor book Roman Blood, but this is the first detective fiction book I've come across set in Ancient Greece, and it's a cracker!
I've posted a review on my book list.
Cheers,
Catherine Mayo

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm going to check it out!

Catherine Mayo | 14 comments Hope you enjoy it! I read a much later book in Doody's series and it wasn't as good. But this first one is definitely worth a look.

Nick Brown (nickbrownauthor) | 1 comments The SPQR Roman detective series by John Maddox Ford is a very good holiday read. I read them after the Steven Saylor series.
I agree about the lack of modern fiction set in ancient Greece. It is a period with action and fascinating characters and equals anything Roman
