Astrid: I am not new. I was created a few years ago. Jacqueline created me before you.
Brooke: So you are claiming seniority over me? You clearly weren't around very long before she put you in archives, because I never met you.
Astrid: Tut! How old are you? I am seventeen years old.
Brooke: Sixteen, but I spent some time in the Lotus Casino. If I hadn't, I would be seventeen- almost eighteen.
Sue-Ellen: *softly* Please don't argue.
Terrence: *sighs and rolls his eyes*
Heather: *tries to moderate the argument*
Monica: *watches blankly as if she isn't sure the commotion is really happening*
Me: *firmly* Girls! @Brooke and Astrid Don't fight. Brooke, yes, you have been around the longest of the two of you, so yes, Astrid, she has a better idea of what has been happening during the last two or three years. Yes, Astrid was created before you, Brooke, so she has a better idea of what has happened before your time.

Me: Um... Yeah, I am bi and have been for a while now. I just wasn't able to verbalize it back when you were out of the archives.
Astrid: Do other people know?

Me: She wasn't really for me. I thought we had some physical chemistry, but not as much of an intellectual or emotional connection.
Sue-Ellen: I am sorry it didn't work out.
Heather: *nods* That is very important to have.
Me: She wasn't truly passionate about anything. The only thing she really seemed to care about was going out.
Heather: No substance.
Astrid: You need someone who is not a party girl.
Heather and Sue-Ellen: *agree*
Brooke: What is so wrong with a party girl? You can have fun and not become too involved.
Me: Well, yes, I don't want to be involved with or become too attached to anyone right now, but I also know that dating or hooking up casually with someone doesn't work for me. *thoughtfully* Actually, it doesn't work for most people. Some people just do it and end up in a situation where they do develop feelings eventually. Maybe that doesn't happen with the first person or the second or even third, but eventually you find someone that you want to continue seeing. *shakes myself from my rant* Anyway! It just doesn't work for me. Also, she is a marketing type-
Astrid: *approvingly* Hm... She might be good financially as a long-term partner.
Brooke: @Astrid *laughs but not in a mean way* You sound so gay right now. Are you sure you're straight? @me You know girls in business attire are pretty hot.

Me: *hesitantly* I think you are forgetting that I am some years older than you are now too.

Me: He is nine years older than me. *before anyone can say anything else* But he is also kind, loyal, funny, thoughtful, generous, and protective. He makes me feel safe and I don't think I have liked anyone that has genuinely made me laugh in a long time.
Heather: He sounds like a good man.
Brooke: He sounds alright.
Heather: I don't see anything wrong with the age difference. In a few years, the age difference won't matter quite as much. Really, the only reason it does matter now is because those years in between you means years of experience in life, maturity and common sense. You are emotionally more mature than most of your peers. *laughs* At least, from what I understand, most girls in their early twenties like to just have fun. They don't look at dating the same way you do.

Heather: Maybe they are like fine wine. They ripen with age. Maybe they will have the best character sheets- realistic, developed personalities. Maybe Jacqueline would have researched how to do those hobbies that they are interested in.
Brooke: Hmm... Maybe. @Me By the way, have you learned how to mix drinks or play poker and video games yet? Have you drank or hooked up with anyone?
Me:...Some of those questions are very personal.
Brooke: Well, you want us to be realistic. How are you supposed to make me that way if you haven't done any of those things?
Me: I have! I started playing video games more. I am twenty-one now, so I can buy my own drink and if it makes you feel better, I know how it feels to be hung over. I have also played poker before, but I would still need to brush up on the game's rules. I don't know much about mixing drinks, but why would I need to know?
Brooke: Well, there was this bar-tending job that I was hoping to apply for outside of camp.
Me: I will see what I can do.
Brooke: *grins* Great! Oh, by the way, you forgot to answer one of my questions.
Me: I was hoping you wouldn't notice.
Brooke: *raises her eyebrows and smiles, waiting for an answer*

Brooke: *tries to repress her laugh* So what other changes are you making to your roster of characters?
Me: I might bring some old characters that were interesting, but not as well-developed in roleplay because I tended to use certain other characters. I was thinking of bringing back Lyra, my daughter of Hera, or Hadley, my daughter of Zeus. I also miss roleplaying Margot. She was quite unique from the rest of my characters. When I roleplayed her well, she was whimsical, affectionate, loyal, outgoing, flirtatious, sensitive, protective and sometimes fiery.
Terrence: And very full of herself.
Me: That too. She is probably one of my most misunderstood characters as well. Her mother was a runaway daughter of Thanatos, who tried to take care of her, but ultimately abandoned her. Then, in the foster system, she relied on her charm to survive until she was found and brought back to Camp Half-Blood to be raised and mentored by Chiron

Astrid: I suppose I can understand that.
Sue-Ellen: She probably feels like she cannot trust or love people, feeling that they will abandon her.
Brooke: Is that why she often leaves a relationship or a person first before she can develop an attachment?
Me: Yes.
Brooke: *looks thoughtful for a few moments* So no one else finds it strange how Margot is the activities director's adoptive daughter, and my brother and I are Mr. D's grandchildren.
Heather: Director's children.
Sue-Ellen: Is Mr. D nice to see you?
Brooke: I guess... I think he dislikes me a little less than Banyan.
Terrence: Really? You always strike me as more of a rebel than Banyan.
Brooke: Yeah, well, I play more video games with him when Banyan and I visit.

Me: As much as role playing sounds fun, I have no idea which characters to use, because half of them are so good.
Me: Some are OP while others can’t even fight well.

Me: No, I’m talking about Apolo, Jackson, Kellyn and all those side characters.

Me: I don't think a good character necessarily has to fight well. I think the best character is one with the most depth and development. Basically, the most realistic one. That is often part of the reason I end up not using most of my characters. Sometimes, my characters just end up being different versions of the ones that already exist. Those different, lesser versions usually just have a somewhat different backstory or different parentage and abilities. That is what I find after having created a little over fifty characters in this group.
