A Delicate Truth
question
The audio version is done by John le Carre and is so good

I do audio books on my commute to work and am now addicted and wonder why I did not begin this practice sooner. As I was listening to A Delicate Truth I kept thinking this narrator is so talented and I was getting very tense and invested in the story. I did not realize until the book was over (and I am not sure I loved the ending but it did not spoil the experience for me) did I realize it was the author narrating. How did you feel about the ending?

Le Carre's ending are always a bit ambiguous, and this was similar. I've read most of his novels, and frankly the plots declined in quality over time (at least for me). The writing is always great.
In this case I found it hard to care about the characters. Probyn is sympathetic. I thought Emily was going to hook up with Toby given that she is brunette as opposed to all the blondes previously. But her character is left undeveloped and too late in the story.

I agree that Le carre's reading is superb, he really brought the whole thing alive for me
