kirstin ✿ SPOILERS ALL OVER.

If you hate him, do not post in here.

Okay. I feel the need to make this topic after I saw some thread asking about people's opinions about Poor Thomas. Most Legend readers hate him, I think, but I don't. I bet I'm the only one. Hahaha! Anyway... I just can't bring myself to hate him after all he's done. Even after Prodigy. He's still the Thomas I adored from the very beginning.

I know... WTF's wrong with me?

Taylor Snyder I haven't read Prodigy yet, but even all the things he has done in the first book, I kinda understand his reasoning. Killing is never the answer, but I don't hate him either.

Jazz I don't necessarily hate him now that I've read Prodigy. I don't condone his actions in no shape or form but there are reasons and consequences for his actions. I'm going to stop there because of those who haven't read Prodigy. One thing I do have to say is without Thomas doing what he did, June would never have met Day and never would have learned the things she found out in Legend.

kirstin ✿ @Emma: Hmm. If you have read Legend, and paid attention to it you would have known the answer ^^

Lol I didn't finish the book, it was crap.

kirstin ✿ I love the series ^^ Why do you think it's crap? I'm curious.

kirstin ✿ I didn't explain why I liked Thomas, did I? Anyway... I really liked the way he genuinely cared about June.

Please can you just answer my question... I'll tell you why I think it's crap after

kirstin ✿ The answer is yes.

I came close to finishing the book, but I just couldn't. The whole time I was reading it, it was incredibly boring. I hated all the characters except for Tess and Thomas - they were the only ones who seemed slightly interesting. I hated Day, I just never felt anything for his sorry life and I felt like June was even more boring and uninteresting. I couldn't care less about her dead brother, so therefore I found the plot boring and slow.

The whole thing was rushed. June's brother died, she found Day, she found out he was Day, he was captured. The great and almighty criminal was captured way too quickly and easily for me to really feel any emotions about it. I felt like we hardly knew the characters before everything happened.

So the story was rushed and the characters were boring. Nothing excited me. I finished a chapter and went oh... okay. Put it down and didn't pick it back up for a few weeks. So one day, I put it down and I've never picked it up again. I would have died of boredom if I kept reading. So yeah :)

kirstin ✿ Oh... our opinions differed vastly, lol. I really think Legend is action-packed. Especially its sequel, which is waaaaay better than the first one.

And about Tess? Hmm. If you get the chance to read Prodigy, your opinion might change.

And there's Anden, too. I really liked hin ^^

Anyway, thanks for answering. You have some points: about Day being captured far too quickly, when the rest of the Republic spent 3 years tracking him. Hahaha.

Some of the things are not realistic at all. I mean, a 15-year-old 'criminal' on the loose and not once had been captured? What was the military doing?

Anyway, I still loved it despite the flaws ^^

The next book is much better.

Sorry for responding late. I guess to each their own. I liked Legend because of its uniqueness and like K i r s t i n ☯ and Rachel mentioned, the second book is much better.

@K i r s t i n ☯ : I kind of thought the idea of a 15 year-old criminal as being realistic. Once he got off the grid and no one could recognize him, after people start speculating every story or detail of the person will always be different. Him being captured was due to his weakness, which is his love for his family and friends. There are flaws, as you said, but honestly for me, I kind of expect that in a science fiction ya book.

I look forward to Champion and hope that Marie Lu includes Thomas in one way or another.
