I really really liked this book it was sooo sad!!!!!the thing is is that i think that the auther should have changed the ending or at least wrote a sequel so we could find out what happened to the other little girl but any ways i really liked the book. What do you think about the ending?

The book was great. But the only frustrating part was the end. Did the girl die or did she live? Did she get to see her family again? It was still a great book.
I think it's a good thing that the book ended this way. It allows the reader to think about how they would continue her story, or what they think happened. I believe that she lived, and would go home to her family since she was in the hands of the police officer at the end.
I think the book was very well written but this was a very sad disturbing book it was an amazing one that sticks with you but still not what i would call a "good" book in that sense

I think she died because in the end it said she was free and she could only be free if she was dead because even if she did go back to her parents she would still have to live with that her whole life and she would never really be free. Also the author probably didn't write a sequel because, again, she probably died in the end.
The book was beautifully written. It is disturbing and an aye opener at the same time. I almost felt that this was not a fiction book.
I LOVED IT!!! Really really sad and scary... Hard to read in some parts, but I literally finished it in about 3 hours....(:
I almost wish I could just strike this entire book from my memory. I really wanted to stop reading but at the same time I needed to see it through to the end.
Oh my I cried during this book! It was so sad but so true at the same time. It kind of made you think about things in life and how it is. It's a very very sad book. But it was really good at the same time!
This book to my concern was amazing i loved it . Once I started to read it I couldnt put it down the author did a really good job with it . I most deff, recomend this book to every one its a 5 star in my book
Yes it is! When I started reading it, I had to put it down. I just couldn't deal with all of those stories at once!
Such a good book. I was a little hesitant and thought i wouldn't be able to read through it - given how it starts out..but i picked it back up and is one of my favorite books to date.

Woops! I thought i was on the 13 reasons why discussion.... So no, i didn't love this book because of 13 reasons why.. Sorry!!(=
It's AMAZING!!! It's a trilogy (all of them have Study in the title) then is followed by the "Glass" trilogy. My heart was racing from start to finish! Strong heroine, cold but sweet lover. Excellent!
This was a very hard book to read... but it was so good I couldn't stop reading because I wanted to know if she would escape. I wish I knew whether she lived or died but I think either way, it doesn't matter, Ray died and she was free... finally.
yeah.. I am glad Ray finally died!! I am sad that it took so long. and there was the chance of there being another Alice, this time Annabell. Sooo.. Yeah I loved it!
So I'm confused, did "Alice" die in the end? At first I thought she lived, and said I AM FREE because Ray died. But now there are people saying she died too? huh? I'm confused!
I don't think she died. I'm sure she didn't. Becuase it says either there are ambulances, or that I AM FREE and to me that means from Ray, because it never says anywhere that she was like close to dieing, so I don't think so..
Mayamu wrote: "Leslie wrote: "I really really liked this book it was sooo sad!!!!!the thing is is that i think that the auther should have changed the ending or at least wrote a sequel so we could find out what h..."OKay, i know you posted this a long time ago, but I don't think she died. Maybe passed out. But I don't think it would just end in I AM FREE and not say whether or not she died. But maybe that was the point, to let the ending--whether Kyla lived, died-- be determined by the reader.
I had always assumed that she had died. I mean, she was blacking out after being shot in the abdomen. Throughout the entire book all Alice wanted was for Ray to kill her so she could be free. At the end, she is free. Plus, Kyla was too broken to ever recover from Ray.The uncertain ending was my favorite part.

I seriously don't think that there could be a second book even if the girl did survive. It'd lose the magic of what made the first book since she's free. A follow-up would be boring in my opinion.

I loved this book a lot. I read it all in less than one day. It was that good. I was actually confused by then end tho not sure what had happened but I knew she was finally free. :)

I was hoping he died lol because if not he was left to abuse more girls and what kind of ending is that.
He did die. That i'm sure of... What i'm not sure of-and i don't think anyone else is either, except for the author- is if she died or lived. And Jasmine, I also finished it in less than a day... Like 3 hours... haha
She (probably) died. I'm almost certain. She said she was free. Plus, she had already lost a ton of blood due to her shoulder. PLUS her being shot in her stomach and it had been a while. She probably died.
But,seriously, who cares if she died or lived. Pay attention to the book itself not how the story ended up after the last page.(:

Well... Yeah... But... idk i think it's important if she died or not. Yes she would be free either way. And the book itself was really hard to read. Because the things that she did and was put through was awful. The way she lived her last day as a free little girl. It was almost too much. And to think that she was put through all of that and then be killed? What??!! And if she said seh was free and she was dead, how could she say that?
I had a hard time reading this book because of everything Alice went through. It was never explicit, but it still made me want to vomit. Elizabeth Scott is a fantastic writer, who really brought Alice's terrible, tragic, horrifying story to life.
She died. She had to die to be free. Even if she escaped him, she would never be free from what he did to her.The amazing thing, though, is that despite all she'd been through, she died while stopping him from taking another girl. If you recall, at first she was willing to help in his plan to take someone else so he'd let her go. But at the last minute, she can't do it. So despite all the evil and terror that he'd done to her, he couldn't kill the goodness in her soul. And that's what makes this such an amazing book. No matter all the abuses he did to Alice, despite all the lies he fed her, he couldn't completely destroy her spirit.
Sydney wrote: "A trilogy??? What about like a sequel?"Or a prequel about his life or that first girl. Both would be sad and creepy in the same spirit.
She died. She was dead dead dead and then I started crying, but in a way it fit what she had been saying the entire time. She was free, finally, but no one heard her- not even at the very end. She talked about being a living dead girl, how she was just waiting to die. Throughout the book, I was wondering whether or not she would ever be able to adjust, and it seems most fitting that though she broke the cycle and killed Ray, her freedom came in the form of her death.
It really was clear all along that there was no other option, and my opinion of both the author and the story went up when the author stayed true to that.

At first the book was disturbing because I don't like reading about rape.. but, it was just one of those "YOU HAVE TO READ IT" books. I didn't even wanna go to the beach until I finished that book and I did right before we left haha. But, It was super sad because she died and I almost wanted to cry because I wanted her to be with her family again and their new baby.. ): I was also happy she was finally free. She needed to be free.

When I read what her name was, I freaked out, because that's my little sister's name and she was about the same age! I mean, I have never heard of another Kyla.O.o
When I finished the book, I said, "I take back all pity I have ever given to a fictional character".
This book made me feel sick, it just opened my eyes to the world and the horrible stuff out there.. I couldn't forget that book even if i tried to...
It reminds me of a review I read for the book Room. When you finish a book and look up to realize nothing has changed but somehow you have. This book definitely makes an impression.
