Normally he would of slammed the door in her face and told her not to bother him again, but nothing about today was normal, "uh...sure..." He replied, still staring at the floor.

" ill go get a dustpan" she said softly and weant to the kitchen where she remembered seeing one and weant back to his room surprised he said yes. she knocked once before slowly cracking the door open

Evan was already kicking the shards into a small pile.

Kenna opened the door and gasped " Evan! your gonna get glass in your feet" she said putting her hand on his shoulder

Evan shrugged but stopped, "i couldn't find the broom." He mumbled.

" i was getting it" she said and laughed softly " your like a little kid" she laughed pushing him playfully and kneltdown with the small broom and dustpan and started to swipe the glass in the dustpan

Evan picked up the wooden base and bent shade from the broken lamp, he set it on the top of his desk for later disposal.

Kenna sweeped up all the glass and poured it into his trash bucket and looked up at him " you going to be more careful?" she asked

Evan shrugged, "i dunno...."

kenna nudged him " what next you gonna send the whole house crashing down when you trip?" she said trying to be playful with him

He smiled a little, "i was thinking more along the lines of the entire continent..."

Kenna laughed softly " well i did not know you were so clumbsy" she said teasingly poking his chest lightly

Evan shrugged, "everyone falls at times....its just a matter of how many times you get back up."

a" i guess, and how much damage you leave behinde" she said and nudged him

Evan shrugged, "i always hated that lamp....."

" I could tell. well now you dont got to worry bout it " she said nudging him. She wondered if he could warm up to her.

Evan smiled a little, "yeah, i guess..."

" so you get any glass in your fet?' she asked him

Evan shrugged and looked down, "i dunno...i dont think so.."

Kenna nodded looking up at him wondering if she should talk to him about the kiss

Evan sat down on his bed, scooting over so there was enough room for her to sit down if she wished.

Kenna saw that he wanted her to sit with him so she sat down on the bed and looked up at him " you ok?" she asked

Evan nodded, "yeah....im fine."

Kenna smiled softly " good " she said softly, she bit her lip she really wanted to ask him about before but he was so mad before she liked having this moment where he wasnt so mean to her

Evan sighed, looking out his window, "I'm sorry about earlier..." He mumbled, not looking at her. "I guess i kinda didn't know how to handle things..."

" were you serious.. about it? like were you not trying to mess with me?" she asked looking up at him wringing her hands

Evan sighed, smiling a bit, "if i was messing with you do you think id let you in my room or even answer the door for that matter?"

" well i dont know maybe its another big prank of yours" she said looking at him nudging him you do do that a lot" she siad

Evan sighed, still looking out the window, "....i know...." He mumbled lamely.

Kenna looked at him " so.... are you?" she asked dragging her eyes up to his

Evan sighed, "don't you think that would be kind of an extreme prank...even for me.."

Kenna let out a beathe " yes...." she said. This would be a prank that wouldcross the lin

Evan sighed, looking out the window, "...exactly..."

Kenna bit her lip " why would i... make you angry?" she asked softly

Evan sighed and looked back over at her, "i dunno, its just, your my little brothers best friend...its not natural or expectable for me to like you." He said morbidly.

" natural? im not a boy whats wrong with me?" she asked curiously. she knew he hated her when he first saw her, she had moved in next door and her mom and her weant to greet the neighbors when she met Kyle and they became best friends. At that time Evan was at some sports game. When he came back Kenna was playing with Kyle when they met, he seemed to have hated ehr when he first saw her

Evan sighed, "nothings wrong with you...."

Kenna put her arm on his " than tell me whats the problem, you have always pickedo n me but now you tell me... its because...'

He glanced down at the floor, "i admit, when we were little i didn't like you...for stupid reasons....but anyway, yeah i just kept the pranks up because if i didn't i figured people would start to wonder..."

Kenna looked at him " wonder what?" she asked him in a soft voice nibbling on her lib

Evan sighed, "if i liked you.."

" is that such a big problem?' she asked him

Evan nodded, glancing over at her, "im worried it would effect your friendship with Kyle...."

Kenna bit her lip, if that wasa all it was she could understand, not for her friendship with Kyle but it could effect Evan and Kyle.

Evan sighed, looking out the window again.

Kenna nodded and stood she put a hand on his shoulder " we should... talk more" she said " i like this better than that scowl" she said smiling

Evan nodded, smiling a little, "okay.."

Kenna smiled and turned around looking back as she opened the door, and then walked out

Evan leaned back and starred at the ceiling.

Kenna got back in bed with Kyle and fell asleep
