The Host question

I'm kind of torn about this. I loved The Host and thought it ended perfectly. I don't really want to read any more about the story because I think it has everything and can't imagine any more to it. But I know I will probably read The Seeker and The Soul just because I liked The Host so much.

i thought it was a perfect book all on its own it doesnt need a sequeal. Saying that i heard the only reason she was writting others was because of a movie deal?

HHMMM, I just figured she took her money from all the movies/book sales and retired, but it's good to hear that shes writing again. I do enjoy her books even if they do get a little "to wordy" sometimes.

That's good to know!! two more, a sequel... ever since i finished The Host, i just imagined a sequel or two, even a mini-series, the reading transports you to that place of-body-snatchers-kind of vibe... Love it!! Yaaeeeee to Stephanie

Seems like a sketchy idea to me. My cynical side suspects Meyer is just milking money out of the franchise, and might downgrade the original story with drama padding and a formulaic love triangle plot. On an optimistic side, I would love to see Meyer prove all her critics wrong and produce a really good series out of this novel, but we'll have to wait and see.

I'm never disappointed by Stephanie Meyer's books. I'm sure the next two will be just as awesome as the first! I just finished reading the Host for a second time and I still can't get enough of it!

WHAT!!!!! the host has a great ending. theres no need to ruin the story with a sequel! I will still read them since I love the host, but don't want it to destroy me liking the host.

Anyone heard anything about when the next one is being released?

This is one of my favorite books so I am super excited!! At the same time I am VERY scared more information will ruin the original awesome story. We will see :)

Yeah! I loved the host so much and I can't wait for the sequel. Though I thought that the book ended pretty well with good amount left the the imagination so I hope she does it well.

The movie was good but bad at the same time. It did not stay true to the book at all. That was disappointing.

Looking forward to their release. I thought The Host was very well done and it's been quite awhile since I read it.

I thought The Host ended really well. I feel like all she can do is series. She can't do just one book and have it be great?

Oh wonderful, more of them. I'm not a fan of Stephenie Meyer's writing. Her series tend to drag out way too much. The Host was a step up from the Twilight Series, but I have a bad feeling she's going to run the Host series into the ground.
