Oh, it's too bad LI didn't work for you, Seton. I didn't see the reason why you stopped, but I'm enjoying Faking It even more. The writing & storytelling seem more confident. Losing It felt a bit "forced" in parts, although I still liked it.I know some people found the power differential in LI a little off-putting. That's not an issue for Faking It, if that helps.
I didn't read LI but I'm going to have to read it after faking it. I know it's backwards but I didn't hear about these books until last week. Anyways I'm only on chapter 7 but I'm really enjoying it so far.
I wouldn't worry about not having read LI, Michele. Faking It can be read alone: you get the necessary background at the very beginning.I'm glad you're enjoying it. So am I!
I have a problem that once I start reading it´s really difficult to stop! So I´ll probably go from initial thought to finishing the book.Missy, I totally agreed with you! Inverting the usual characters personality was a nice change! Love the bad girl act... And I kind of like that Cade is not perfect... He does try to be but I don´t see him as the ultimate good guy - meaning the one that is usually left behind.
I'm like you, Renata- I'm really holding back because I'm well into the book! I'll be lucky to hold out 'til Saturday to post another thread ;)I also like how neither one is perfect. Losing It was good, but I'm enjoying Faking It even more so far.
I haven´t read Losing It yet... Until the book suggestion for July I´ve never heard of this series at all! With was another great thing to mention. I loved the book even not knowing it was a series! Way to go!
I read both LI and FI in a matter of days. They are both an easy read and you could easily read one without reading the other. I enjoyed FI much more than LI. The characters seemed more real to me. I loved Cade's character in this book. He reminded me a little bit of Matt from Flat Out Love by Jessica park. A little geeky and unsure of himself, but with just enough bad boy in his head to make him a really cool guy. Flat-Out Love
Great choice for a fun summer read!!
Just about to start this book but have to be honest and say that when I found out it was about Cade my excitement dissolved, I didn't like his character in Losing It which is probably why - I found him annoying that he went off sulking and stopped talking to Bliss like he was a teenager because she didn't feel the same way about him. I am going to give it a chance though just because I loved Losing It so much.
For those of you who aren't too thrilled about Cade, I'd urge you to give FI a chance. He moves beyond being the "lovesick puppy" and becomes a much more fleshed our character. It happens fast, too. As several of us noted, things move FAST in this book!
I actually agree with Emily- I'm liking FI even more than LI. The premise of LI is very eye-catching, while FI doesn't seem as "different," but the characters do feel more "real" to me on FI.
I wasn't a fan of Cade in LI but he has really grown on me while reading FI. His immaturity bothered me in LI but he's grown out of it and has become a likeable character the further and further I get into FI.
I had read this book before it was a recommended read for the group. I gave it two stars. I am going to quote my own review of this book "the story had real potential but it fell flat for me".
I enjoyed Faking It a lot. Despite the fact that I never liked Cade in Losing It, I grew to like him a lot in this book, and Max was also a very interesting and lovable character. The book was funny, cute and entertaining. The relationship between the two leads was, I must say, handled in a better way than it was in Losing It.All in all, a really fun read. I would definitely recommend.
Honestly I enjoy reading FI. I grown to love Cade character and I glad he move on from Bliss. But I a little bit disappointed by the way story ended. On the last chapter it looks like the story is 'hanging'. I pretty much guessing hows people reaction from the Gala, since Max's parent is the opposite from Max. It didn't come, and when I flip next page there is epiloge..a few month later. I was wondering what happen! Seriously ! But overall I love this book, so I'll recomend it :)

So, we're two days into July- what are people thinking about Faking It so far?
It's early for spoilers, but for you speed-readers out there, if you want to say something "spoilery," then please "hide" it with a spoiler tag. You can make one by typing: < spoiler > (with no gaps) before the spoiler and < /spoiler > (with no gaps after)
I'll start- I'm loving the setup of the straight-laced guy and "wild girl." It's a refreshing change. What about you?
