TyLe | 10 comments this is a two part request.

1) I added an edition (a physical copy I own) to an existing book, however my edition does not show up among the other's already present for this particular title. Does it require combining by a librarian before it is properly associated with other editions? I would think adding an edition would be different from adding a book?

2) secondly. My edition was printed in 1938 by Blue Ribbon Books. There is another edition already listed by Blue Ribbon Books but with a printed date of 1928 (original publication date). I did not want to assume that the publication date was inaccurate, as they may indeed be from different printings. I know Blue Ribbon printed in 1936, 1937 & 1938 - so the existing edition may be accurate as well. I only say this so that the two are not inadvertently merged please.

Yes, new editions need be combined manually with the other editions.
I have done this.

and link back here.

TyLe | 10 comments Thanks Deon!!! I can take a picture of the book, but it wouldn't be very pretty :) And unfortunately there is not a slipcase to speak of. I will keep this in mind for future additions.

TyLe | 10 comments Also, I noticed many editions cited the commentary/forward's author as well. Which field is appropriate for this information?

Deon (deonva) | 3718 comments I don't know that there is a preference. (Someone else may know), but I would personally use the term that was your own book.

TyLe | 10 comments Btw, is adding an image to our profile and asking a librarian to add it to a book currently on goodreads the only way to add cover art? I'm noticing many kindle additions without coverart, though Amazon (acceptable source now) has a "cover" for their Kindle edition?

Links to the book page plus links to that edition on Amazon are fine.
