Your favorite young adult books....??

Hunger games! I was never really a fan of YA... and then I bought the trilogy and went through all tree books in a 3-day weekend.

Wow! Just in 3 days!! Even I love the Hunger Games...

I loved the Twilight Saga....when I was 11, there was a point of time when I only read TTS. I found it amazing....especially Edward Cullen. Though now it seems boring....

I actually grabbed the Twilight Saga in a store before it was ''the big thing'' had no clue what it was, but the covers were pretty and I have a lot of time on my hand so went through the series in a week. I ''Liked'' it... except for the second one, tortured myself through it. But I liked it.... untill the whole hype started and the movies came out... ruined it for me

I still love TTS too!!! I really find the whole Saga awesome....even I found the 2nd book was not that good....one-time read. And I too disliked the movies!! Well....everything, except Robert Pattinson:))Love that guy!!

Yes, HP falls under YA. At least, I think it does. No idea about Artemis Fowl....haven't read.

Apart from these, the only YA books I've read would be Hunger Games trilogy. It's awesome....u should try it!! Twilight Saga is YA but I really doubt you'd like it....

Can't choose between Breaking Dawn and Twilight....Twilight was beautiful in it's own way, the start of their relationship....whereas BD was really awesome to read bout Bella as a vampire and the third part with the Volturi was really really good.

Watched Hunger Games first part's movie. Felt a lot like the flick 'Battle Royale'.
How much resemblance the book and the movie has (in percentage)?

Currently from the lot of 9, reading Divergent (around 100 pages down). Loving it so far, going smooth.

Twilight is that glittery vampires series, those most folks loathes in despair!? Heard (rumors??) it makes you a bit happy/sad but takes 20-30 IQ from you in return. j/k

You'd give Artemis Fowl a try. Think it comes in the children's genre. And it made me happy as I'm 9 years old! Just like the manga/anime 'one piece' does!

There are quite a few. It depends if you want dystopian, Christian, or what. :)

Or something hybrid of dystopian, post apocalyptic, philosophical, psychedelic, trance-like! Don't know if young adults fancy those altogether...

Divergent And Insurgent are dystopian.

Partials is a mix of dystopian and post-apocalyptic.

I know I read a philosophical book recently. I just don't remember it's name. O.O I'll recheck!!!!!

Oh, it really doesn't have an age range! I know someone over 50 who still reads YA Fiction. And at the same time I know somebody who's under 13 and believes that YA is "underage" for her and she reads adults books.

Oh, they're great books! I'm pretty sure you'll find at least one of them to your liking. Did you know that they're making movies out of The Maze Runner and Legend? The Maze Runner will be coming to theaters early next year!! I don't know when Legend's coming out, but I hope to hear the ness of when it's coming out SOON! :D

Do you know of any really great books? It can be YA or it doesn't have to be. :D

You're right. Even 10 year olds play GTA:4 and God of War!! I was curious to know what age-range group fall into YA's admirer the most. Then there are the the introverts, guilty pleasure seekers who are afraid of the the light of the generic statistics, so one can't tell! (:

My favorite book would be Infinite Jest; it's strange how people find it more psychological than philosophical. But I wouldn't recommend it as it's as thick as a glued trilogy and it has a history of having break-ups with its readers. I like underrated classics and contemporary philosophical books mostly; viz: works of Camus, Dostoevsky meets works of Wittgenstein, Nietzsche; those tend to bore people.

But hey, if you read fantasy/horror I can recommend you few of my favorites for a start..

No. Read Hunger Games first. More details. And I'm just saying because, according to me, Hunger Games was the best in the trilogy. Personally I wasn't much impressed with Catching Fire. And if you decide to read the triogy, then DON'T miss the first book!!

I just finished "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak which is supposed to be YA. I would highly recommend to people of all ages not just YA. It's my new all time favorite book. It's a Masterpiece!!!
