I received this book in a book of the month club mailing and can not remember the title. A woman is won in a poker game and travels tied to the back of a wagon for a long time then is set up to work as a prostitute in a newly built city in the Northeast. Main character is named BLood

I'm assuming historical--but what ERA? Colonial, Federal, Civil War, Reconstruction, WWI?
