Andy The first story is called (I think "Ride the Lion") where a man is walking through a park and decides to climb up onto a big lion statue. He then starts to hear and the jungle in some kind of trance. A bunch of people gather around and make fun of him. Not sure how it ended and who wrote it.

The second is about a time traveling train that goes back to the 1890s. One guy gets on it (he might have been trying to jump in front of a train)and goes back. He leaves a letter for his friend in modern times telling him to look for the train, but when the friend prepares by purchasing period money from a coin shop the train never shows up (I guess the spell was broken).

I don't know who wrote these two and i think they were in the same anthology I read 10+ years ago. The cover might have had a castle and spaceship on it. they were both cool stories and I'd like to relocate them. If anyone has any ideas let me know :)

Ayshe | 4376 comments If you're still looking, maybe the first one is "The Vanishing American" by Charles Beaumont: http://answers.google.com/answers/thr...

And the second one: "The Third Level" by Jack Finney

They appear to have been in The Best Fantasy Stories from the Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction and Great Tales of Fantasy and Science Fiction but you can also search further in isfdb.org: http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/title.cg...

Andy is no longer in the group. This was in Abandoned (and still is), I just want to make sure that no thread gets moved to Abandoned without a moderator leaving a comment explaining why.
