That's a violation of librarian policies. I reverted the change. Adding an additional edition for the Kindle edition would be fine, but editing a valid edition to become a new edition may not be done.
As for your initial question, there are automated processes that determine that. It's nothing librarians have any control over.

When you click on a link on a book's page, such as the "more" link and it brings up the Compare Prices page, what determines the order of the books appearing there?
I have a member of a group I moderator who was wondering why his book didn't show the cheaper price as it is on Amazon. I noticed he had a book labeled as an ebook but with an ISBN, so I changed it to an ASIN but that no only did not help, it now appears as though no prices show at all.
Here is the book that led to my asking this question by the way:

If someone can direct me to a page with more information re: vendors via Goodreads, or can elucidate the matter for me somewhat, I'd be appreciative.
