What are you reading this week?

Camy, I just recently finished reading all four books in The Sushi Series. I enjoyed them all! Good, fun stories. I did have a favorite. Single Sashimi was the fave!!!

I haven't read anything by Roxanne yet but I've met her and she's super nice! I have at least one of her books on my TBR list.

Aw thanks so much! I'm so glad you liked them! To be honest, Single Sashimi was my personal favorite, too. :) I'm also super excited because I'm about to sign a contract with Redbud Press to write the 5th Sushi book, for release December 2015. I'll finally get to write Mimi's story! I'm also trying to get my rights back to the first 3 books so that I can revise them and re-release them in 2015, since they're pretty out of date by now (I don't think Sushi for One even had Facebook in it!)

You're just a TEENSY bit behind ;) I haven't requested quite that many, but I have decided to make a real effort to read at least one Net Galley book a month to work through the ones I have.

That's really good! I've been using Netgalley to try authors I've never read before. I've realized that I'll rarely buy books from authors I've never read before, but Netgalley is perfect for that.

Camy, that's so true! Unless I get a strong recommendation from a friend or reader/reviewer that I trust, I'll rarely drop a lot of money for a new to me author.

I just had an interesting "conversation" on my FB page b/c someone complained that if writers support free books, no one will buy any. But to be honest, I wouldn't buy a book from a new-to-me author. I just don't have the money to do that anymore (I had more when I was working in biology, and I would have been more likely to take the risk, but not on my current income). But if I read a free book, you can bet I'd add that author to my auto buy list. So I do think that free books do sell books. After all, authors shouldn't be a one-hit-wonder to begin with.

I'm currently reading 4 books! I don't normally do that, but for some reason I got 4 started and kind of went with it. LOL! They are: Deceived by Irene Hannon(a Netgalley find), Fire & Ash by Jonathan Maberry(YA/Zombies), Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer(felt the need for an old friend so reread the whole series), and Operation Zulu: Out of Nowhere(book 2 in Ronie Kendig's new serial). They are all different genre's so that helps keep me from confusing any of them and I am actually enjoying the variety. Three are being read on my Kindle and one is a hardback. So wherever I am at I have a book on hand :)

LOL I can relate, right now I have 3 books I'm reading, a nonfiction and 2 fiction! I have the first book in Maberry's series but haven't read it yet, although I do want to eventually. and I LOVED the Twilight series! I didn't care as much about the love triangle, but it was SUCH an entertaining series! I reread Harry Potter once a year like an old friend. :)

Whew, glad another adult is with me on the Twilight series :) I didn't like the love triangle thing either especially because it seemed to spawn a whole new trend for authors doing that. But yes, it was entertaining and even my husband has read them all several times. Maberry's Rot & Ruin series was pretty good if you are into the whole zombie thing. I have read a couple of series that I like with zombies but they really aren't my cup of tea. I really liked Carrie Ryan's Forest of Hands and Teeth series. My husband reads the Harry Potter books once a year or so and then he and my daughter have a movie marathon. I've not gotten into them. But I love that someone else feels that some books are like old friends and just need to be revisited on occasion. This reading a couple of books at a time may catch on with me and I might just have to add a good friend to the selection each time. I just downloaded all of the Love Comes Softly series that I haven't read for several years and I want to reread the O'Malley series next after I finish Breaking Dawn.

That's a good idea, to have an old friend book going while I'm reading other ones. I have the Forest of Hands and Teeth book, too, but again, haven't hd time to read it yet! There always seems to be other books I need to read first.

It's 1891 in Boston. I really enjoyed The Hesitant Heiress, which is the first book. It was a lot of fun.

I loved Dee Henderson's O'Malley series! Did you ever read her old Love Inspired romances? Not suspense, but still good reads. I read God's Gift a few years ago and really enjoyed it.

I think I have read all that Dee Henderson has written. I read God's Gift a few years ago as well. I really love the O'Malley series, they're my favorites :)

Definitely jealous! I remember reading all of her books for the first time :) You are in for a treat if you ever get to the rest of the O'Malley's :)

Obviously The O'Malley series is my favorite so that is where I would start. The Prequel is Danger in the Shadows. You don't have to start there, but I would because I really liked it! LOL. After that there are 6 more. ALL very good.

Julie's right, the O'Malley series is great! it's what got me hooked on Dee Henderson. I never read Danger in the Shadows, though.

I only read a couple Sherlock Holmes stories, but I enjoyed them! Especially because they were set in Victorian London. :) I have several in my TBR pile.

I sure will! I actually read the third book in the trilogy first and am now going back to read this one and the second one. The third one was good, suspenseful but still a fun, easy read.

Once you're in the comment box, you click on "add book/author" and search for the book, once you see the correct one, you choose "cover" at the bottom, then click "Add" by the book you want to show.
