Bojana (bpop) A thread to discuss Frankenstein, once you are done.

Louise Taylor | 24 comments Another book that I found rather long and tedious. I think we are so used to having quick action and short sentences these days that these Victorian novels just seem so long.
I received a 4.5 for this essay. http://louisecharente.wordpress.com/2...

Tegan (joggiwagga) | 5 comments I pulled a 4, which meant I did passable and I will take that. Amusingly I made some odd typos and word omissions even though I did spelling and grammar checks. Oh well. I haven't posted it to my blog yet so I can't share the link.

And I don't think it is just wanting quick action and short sentences that makes Dracula and Frankenstein blergh for me. I actually love the monster's "Do you dream?" passage. But as for the style of literature neither Tom Robbins or John Irving write books bursting with short sentences and quick action and they are among my favorite authors.

Tegan (joggiwagga) | 5 comments Here's the link to my essay, with hopefully all the weird typos fixed (seriously, I run them through a spell and grammar check, and still end up with ridiculous errors).
