It's so messed up that clearly, people acknowledge that unwinding is a terrible thing to do and will do just about anything to avoid being unwound, and yet they still convince themselves that it's fine because that's just how it's done. Like the kid from the crate who was fine with other people getting unwound but not himself. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Ok, so now with more context about what happened with the Bill of Life, that it was proposed as a joke in desperate times, I'm slightly more willing to accept this premise.

I was legitimately surprised that the Humpty Dumpty thing turned out to be true, although in retrospect it was pushed REALLY hard and I should have picked up on it. Still, very cool and horrifying plot point.

Even after The Admiral's conversation with Conner when he 'proved' himself to be a good guy, I didn't trust him. I've watched enough TWD to know never to trust a man who's addressed only as The . (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Wow now I feel really bad, I totally misjudged The Admiral! I feel like that was the best twist in the book, that in a world that's so messed up, and where the majority of the people are selfish and apathetic to all the horrible things going on, there's still someone who is so well meaning.

I feel like that was a really good ending, hopeful but not too saccharine, I'm considering continuing with the series! (hide spoiler)]
