I have wanted to read this for a while now. Looking forward to it. This is my first buddy read in this group.
Has anyone else started this book yet? I know the buddy read is supposed to start tomorrow. I just thought I would see where people are at.
I am glad we are talking about this. I can't believe that parents would be willing to sign papers to have their children unwound. (view spoiler) I am looking forward to seeing where they go with this.
Abbie wrote: "Jodi - [spoilers removed]" That was terrible, but it stayed with Connor and now he has a real sensitivity for those kids.
Abbie wrote: "Jodi - [spoilers removed]"That part was really sad. Do you guys feel like this is a good discussion book? I felt like that when I was reading it. So many issues to deal with in this one. I'll discuss more with you guys when you are done :)
It is a really good book to discuss, there's just so many horrifying aspects! Some of the characters stories are really sad. Right now, i really feel like Risa has had it the hardest. (view spoiler)
This is a good book to discuss. I just got to the part where (view spoiler)Abbie your comment is making me worried for Risa :(

Risa had some bad luck. I found all of their situations depressing. There are a lot of sad moments in the story and it really gets you thinking about some controversial issues.
Jodi wrote: "This is a good book to discuss. I just got to the part where Lev is at the graveyard. Has he ever changed. It was almost creepy when he went to Connor in the middle of the night to tell him not to..."Nothing happens to her, it's the stuff from her past. :) Just thought i'd tag it as spoiler incase anyone else starts it.

I'm starting now!! I'll try to read as fast as I can but unlike you I'm a slow reader so it might take me up to a few days to finish the book.I'm glad you all enjoyed it so much! :)
Hannelore wrote: "I'm only starting now :)But by seeing your reactions
I guess it must be a great book"
I'm glad I'm not the only one starting late! :)

Do you know where it says (some html is ok) at the top of the comment box? It shows you there how to do stuff, like the spoiler thing, bold writing and stuff. :)
For spoiler you just do < spoiler > (No gaps) then the same again at the end but < / (no gaps) at the beginning. :)

Just started.... :P Don't wait for me!! XP
Is part 5 far into the book?
Hannelore wrote: "I finished the book and it was so perfect!"I am glad you liked it Hannelore. I loved it. It is a series that I would definitely continue.
TRIPLICATE- I already don't like Connor's parents
- Ugh this: "Im about to be unwound, incase you forgot." She gently touches his face. "I know," she says. "But I'm not." (Ariana & Connor) OUCH!
- I LOVE how all the 3 characters going to be unwinded all met up. I have a bad feeling about Lev, but what Connor did was wrong though..

Leigh, that comment ticked me off too but when you get farther in the book, you will see that there was just no way she could have gone. There is no way she could understand.
@Jodi: yay! I can't wait to find out.. I'm on Part 2 and the Humphrey Dunfee tale was amazing & spoooky!
aaawwwwwwwwwwww I like Sonia's idea of writing a letter and the characters coming back when they're 18! So cute!!!! (my reaction after Sonia opens the trunk with envelopes inside...)
OMG I LOVE SONIA!!!!!! AWWWW OMG. Lol.

I love the idea of the letters too. It is really special. It lets them say whatever they need to say and I can imagine that they would have a lot of unsaid feelings. They probably had feelings that they didn't know they had.
I finished!! Omg this book is sooo good! I love how there were so many twists and I loved how Lev changed and became mature. I was kinda confused what clappers are though. Are they rebels?
@Jodi: Wow Roland could really control those unwinds! But wow at the end... about Connor having his arm.. THAT was really unexpected!
Yeah :) I had a feeling she was going to turn them in, but I guess she's like the caring but bad ass type.
Leigh (Little Book Star) wrote: "@Jodi: Wow Roland could really control those unwinds! But wow at the end... about Connor having his arm.. THAT was really unexpected!"I know! I told you about Roland. I just wanted him gone because he was such a trouble maker. I did feel bad for him though. That would be so awful to go through and be aware all at the same time. I didn't like that Connor had his arm. I would want it removed and would rather not have one.
Leigh (Little Book Star) wrote: "I finished!! Omg this book is sooo good! I love how there were so many twists and I loved how Lev changed and became mature. I was kinda confused what clappers are though. Are they rebels?"From what i gathered, Clappers are people who can blow things up by clapping, due to something explosive in their blood.
When Mai clapped and bought down the whole unwind hospital, she said something about that job she and lev (and the other guy) went on. She said that it wasn't a job at all, but just a way to create more clappers.
Then she said something about being injected with blood, so i'm guessing the people who created the "job" just wanted to inject people with clapper blood.
