How to "tag" a book

I have added my book as an author but am having some difficulty figuring out how to tag the book for searches. I would expect it to be in the author dashboard. Can anyone help with this?

There is no way to tag a book.

The closest you can get is to create shelves to act as tags for your self and then shelve the book on those shelves.

Tags (genres) are made up of users shelf names

Edit: You can enter genres on your author page but not for books

Thanks Paula! Just wasn't sure if there was something else that I need to do. I wish I had known about Goodreads BEFORE I authored a book. I would have been here as a reader.
