"The Wedding Shawl" is the latest in the Seaside Knitters series by Sally Goldenbaum. I have read them all and liked them. Looking forward to reading this one, too.

Sassy | 39 comments Thank you Sherry.
I am still reading Buttercream Bump Off (Cupcake Bakery Mystery, #2) by Jenn McKinlay
Which I am enjoying.
Though her covers are making me hungry.
Nothing like a dough nut to make you feel better.

Sassy,

I love the Seaside Knitters series.

FRUIT OF ALL EVIL is actually the 2nd in the Farmer's Market series. I read the first one, FARM FRESH MURDER, and didn't like it.

Caroline | 661 comments Well, I did finish The Cat, the Lady and the Liar (Cats in Trouble, #3) by Leann Sweeney and also Skating on Thin Ice (Murder, She Wrote, #35) by Jessica Fletcher . But I've now started Deadly Currents (An RM Outdoor Adventures Mystery, #1) by Beth Groundwater and then plan to read Mobbed A Regan Reilly Mystery by Carol Higgins Clark Night of the Living Dandelion (Flower Shop Mystery, #11) by Kate Collins . I got a bunch of books that came out on 5 April so I guess I'll have to update my list on the "latest splurge" thread. LOL

message 422: by Misty (new)

Misty I'm so excited! My library finally has a copy of Mistletoe Murder. They didn't have it a few months ago when I checked. I've been in school, so I haven't read much just for fun. On a whim, I checked my library again today, and they have a copy! Hooray! I have it on hold, and as soon as it's on the hold shelf, I'm going to go grab it. I've read 2, 3, and 4 in the series, so it'll be nice to see how it all started.

My library finally ordered these. They usually don't order paperbacks that are actually "shelved". Paperbacks are uncatalogued so you can't request them or even know they are available.

message 428: by Kaye (new)

Kaye (momgee) | 862 comments Thanks for the input, Ellie and Melodie. I'm looking forward to it. Shay, what does your library do with them if they are not shelved?

message 429: by Shay (new)

Shay | 408 comments Kaye wrote: "Thanks for the input, Ellie and Melodie. I'm looking forward to it. Shay, what does your library do with them if they are not shelved?"

Technically, they are on a shelf. Sorry. What happens with hardcovers is that they are catalogued. So, you can find, "Evanovich, Janet" in the library records. You can search for Janet Evanovich, request her books, check if it's available, etc. Paperbacks are dumped on the paperback shelves, if you look at their computer record, it will say "Adult Paperback". So, they might have A Deadly Cliché, but the only way you'll find it is by going to the paperback section and actually looking for it. You can't request them or even know if they "exist" in the library system.

I'm with Melodie. I'm starting Lost and Fondue next. Also have to finish Evil Eclairs.

message 431: by Karendenice (new)

Karendenice I just got The Long Quiche Goodbye on my nook from the library a few days ago. But right now I just started Dressed to Keel by Candy Calvert and I'm enjoying it.

message 432: by Robin (new)

Robin Allen I got quiche, too. I just checked out Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death by M.C. Beaton from the library. I hope this one sticks. I've been starting and stopping quite a few mysteries lately. Not because I can't focus, but because they're just not that good. I also got her Death of a Scriptwriter.

-Robin Allen

message 433: by Karendenice (new)

Karendenice I've been trying to find Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death for quite a while at the library. I really want to read it. I'll have to see if they even have a copy in their inventory.

Robin Allen Karendenice wrote: "I've been trying to find Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death for quite a while at the library. "

Does your library do Interlibrary Loans (ILLs)? You can get almost any book that way. Some libraries charge, but mine doesn't. Thank goodness, or I'd go broke with all the books I get. :-)

message 435: by Sandra J (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 308 comments I just started Nine Lives Last Forever (The Cats and Curios Mystery Series, #2) by Rebecca M. Hale . I'm only 30 pages in, and I don't know how I feel about it.

message 436: by Karendenice (new)

Karendenice Actually I just started volunteering at the library so I'm learning a lot more about it than I think I'd normally would. that is one of the questions that I have for them. I also have a list of books that I want to check on-line to see if they have. If they do, I put a hold on them. If they don't I'll check out the interlibrary loans. Thanks for the suggestion. It's a great idea.

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 232 comments This group really made me laugh. (not a bad thing) I just got home from one of my daughter's book signings and am hungry and tired but figured I'd check out my GoodReads mail first. Within several posts I found

Lost and FONDUE, The Long QUICHE goodbye, Evil ECLAIRS, CANDY Calvert, Agatha RAISIN and QUICHE of Death. If I weren't so hungry it wouldn't be half has funny. Where's Hannah and her Cookie shop when I need her. *LOL*

I liked that one. I enjoyed the characters and the cats (of course). The mystery was good, too.

Kaye (momgee) | 862 comments Not sure yet but it will be either A Pug's Tale by Alison Pace or A Parfait Murder A Mystery A La Mode by Wendy Lyn Watson

message 443: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (elliearcher) Just bought Appalachian Paradise by Maggie Bishop by Maggie Bishop & that's my next read!

message 444: by Karen B. (new)

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 232 comments Kaye,
I have to recommend A Pug's Tale since it is one I recently received as a First Reads Win and the author is a GoodReads author. One of the things I liked about it is that the dog helped solved the crime; however the dog didn't overtly have powers to do so. It's hard to explain, but the narrator gets clues from the dog.

message 445: by Karen B. (new)

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 232 comments My next cozy will be Devil's Food Cake Murder (Hannah Swensen Mysteries) by Joanne Fluke Devil's Food Cake Murder as I checked it out of the library last week and it's only a two-week loan. But I will have to read a non-cozy before that.

message 446: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (elliearcher) Karen, you gave me an idea with your last post: I suddenly thought of alternating difficult reads with cozies, rewarding myself for hard work with something easier.

Took me long enough to think of it! I've done it but not in a planful way. I'm trying to organize my reading in a way that feels organic & possible. Something my rebellious self won't immediately resist!

message 447: by Karen B. (new)

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 232 comments Wow Ellie, you are so organized. My main reason for going with a cozy next is that it's a library book! But I did find when I read a lot of Laura Levine books right in a row, I didn't enjoy them as much.
I used to have several books going at once, and still do but not like before. My problem is that if I let too long go between readins I have trouble remembering what I already read and have to go back and skim.
I am working on "Great Expectations" little by little and because I have read it before, I don't have that problem. My biggest problem with GE is getting Pip mixed up with David Copperfield. *LOL*

message 448: by Julia (new)

Julia (juliawebb) Just finished What's a Ghoul to Do and starting Demons are a Ghouls Best Friend, a wonderful series by Victoria Laurie.

message 449: by Karen B. (new)

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 232 comments Don't you all just love the puns in the titles of some of these cozies? Just reading the titles is amusing to me.

Am so jealous! I love the Mystery A La Mode books and am so looking forward to A PARFAIT MURDER.
