Oliver parked his Chevelle and smiled at Evan. "You really do look great," he said.

She smiled, blushing. "Thanks..."

He opened the door and stepped out. The cool breeze felt exceptional, and the sinking sun had turned the sky a burnt orange color. Oliver walked to the other side of the car and opened Evan's door for her.

She stepped out of the car and took his hand. She smiled softly as they walked into the restaurant.

"I really think you'll like this place," Oliver said, leading her to the Matri'd podium. She was a medium height, pretty blonde girl.

"Hello, welcome to Rez," she chirped in a French accent, "Do you have a reservation?"

"Yes, Powell for two?"

"Ah yes, right this way," she smiled. She lead them to a small two seat table in the middle of the restaurant.

Evan wasn't used to fancy restaurants and regularly went to places that were unknown and sketchy looking. She took a seat and looked around, her eyes bothered by the dim lighting.

"Your waiter or waitress will be with you in a few minutes." The cute blonde walked back to her podium.

Oliver sat across from Evan while they waited for their server. "Well the interior here is pretty nice," he pointed out while he looked around.

"I guess. I wish I could see it" she said quietly. She looked around, trying to see the decor.

"What do you mean?" he asked, confused. It was all very clear to him, the new age paintings and the low hung light fixtures.

"The dim lighting. I can't see" she said to him. It was obvious. It was near pitch black

"It seems bright to me," he said. He looked around to see if anyone was looking. Thankfully they were all absorbed in their conversations or their food. Oliver looked up at the lights and concentrated a small portion of his power to the wiring he could sense. Soon the lights were brighter. "Better?"

She nodded,"thanks. " She was able to see and smiled. He had tried to find a place that she would like. He had failed, but it was sweet that he had tried.

Even the small exertion of his power worsened the pain in Oliver's chest, but he supposed it was worth it to make Evan happier. "So where did you live before coming here?" he asked, trying to make interesting conversation.

"Man, I've been everywhere. I lived in Australia the longest" Evan told him, looking into his eyes.

Oliver nodded. "Australia? That has always sounded like a nice place to me," he said in a tone that he hoped implored her to go on.

"It was. The water was amazing and the sand was the softest ever! Sometimes kangaroos would run across the highway!"

"I like kangaroos, they always caught my interest," Oliver said. They continued on with their banter, talking all about where they used to live and interesting things about those places. The waiter still hadn't made it to the table, which was frustrating because they didn't even have menus yet.

"I'm starving" Evan groaned, furrowing her brows.

[Kyle .-. --I'm upsidown--]

"Yeah me too, I don--Oh thank God, I think that's the waiter," Oliver said, annoyed at the situation. A man wearing a completely black suit and an ear piece was coming toward the table. It seemed like a strange uniform to him, but as long as he got his food soon the waiter could be naked. The man made it to the table. "Oliver Powell?" he asked in a gravely voice. "Uh, yeah, how'd--" That's when the black suited man pulled his gun.

Evan's eyes widened. "O-okay man... We're just o-on a date.. " she stuttered nervously

Oliver quickly turned the table over and protectively stood in front of Evan. "Oliver Powell, we know what and who you are. You are wanted by the FBI in the murder of Maxwell Jones. Give yourself up and we won't hurt you or the girl," he said. Oliver had a second of indecision then decided he would not be a government test subject. He used his powers to blow out all of the lights while simultaneously pushing Evan out of harm's way. Three gunshots rang out, the diners screaming in terror and confusion, before Oliver tipped the FBI agent over on his back. The gun slipped from the agent's hand. They wrestled for it but only pushed it further away. Oliver pushed himself up a bit to gain leverage over the man. Oliver punched him in the face, dazing him. Oliver dove blindly for the pistol. Once it was in his hand he turned and fired. The deep grunt of pain told him he hit his mark.

Evan hit the floor. She began to worry and thought using her powers in the dark, which was dangerous for her. She shielded her face as a wine glass shattered.

[Kyle .-. --I'm upsidown--]

"Jesus fucking Christ," Oliver said, heart racing, "Evan, we need to go. NOW." He pulled out his phone and used the light to find her. He extended his hand to help her up.
