Arthur went right back to the castle, unable to find anything else useful. Reporting his failure was just embarrassing.
After riding back, he dismissed his horse to a servant before continuing his way to the throne room.

Arthur entered the room just as his men came out of the room, carrying the messenger to the infirmary. He took a deep breath of courage, and entered the hall.

He marched into the hall, standing before the duke before kneeling down and doing the usual ritual a humble and loyal servant does.

She watched silently from across the hall.
He shook his head negatively. "I can't find anything useful, your Highness. It seemed as though he just dropped sick that way."
He arched his brow. "My men brought him back, you Highness. I tested and confirmed a remaining pulse within him."

She got up, fixing her dress and heading towards them. "Yes Father?" She said as she looked up at him, getting closer.
"You know you're not supposed to be in here, your mother doesn't think a lady should hear such things."
((Sry I'll need to get onto my com to post a long comment. It won't let me go over the amount of characters I just wrote.))
Arthur bowed low, avoiding keeping his gaze on her or any part of her body. "My Lady," he greeted her with his tone he reserved for the nobles.

Arthur smiled slightly, but quickly wiped it off as he stood back straight up. e arched a brow at her, but didn't dare go beyond that.

Her father chuckled. "You should watch your sharp tongue my dear daughter. You know many find it threatening.
Arthur thought he was intruding on something he wasn't supposed to. He had an itch of an urge to clear his throat to remind them of his presence, but he stayed silent. He purposefully looked down at the floor, having his mother educate him with manners.

He gritted his teeth, debating if he should side his boss of his boss' daughter. "My Lady," he said with a certain nervous edge to his voice. "I cannot say. I am not sure whether 'a woman with a sharp tongue and mind' is frightening, considering I've never met one before." Great. Now he's gonna die from teasing the princess. He and his big mouth.

He chuckled. "You've given me no choice since you began to speak my dear, you wouldn't stand for anything less." He smiled.
The conversation was getting more and more awkward for him with each word they spoke. He hasn't used to speaking to both the duke and his princess so unformally at the same time. In fact, this was his first time they were speaking informally to him.

He looked back and forth between the two high ranking figures in front of him. He really wasn't trained to react in situations like this. He simply stayed silent, his eyes showing just a hint of uncertainty.

He chuckled and looked at Arthur. "Though it may not sound it, she is being flattering. And you're well enough in my graces to let down some formality."
Arthur simply nodded, still looking a bit uneasy. "I should go, Your Highness. My men are probably expecting my presence any time soon," he lamely excused himself.

"As you wish. Both of you." He nodded at Arthur.
He bowed low one last time before fleeing the room, certainly uncertain of how he should react im the previous events. That was as awkward as he could imagine happening between a knight and a duke and princess.

Arthur was argueing with his men about petty stuff his men couldn't let go. He got so frustrated he stormed out of the room amf headed for the only place you can find total peace and quite: the grand library.

((Off for the night))

Arthur strode in, as if he owned the place. If someone royal catches him doing this, he might as well be dead. But he didn't care at the moment, he was still fuming.

Arthur froze in his steps as he heard her voice. Just his luck. Now he'll be dead for offending the royals. He turned towards the voice, finding what he dreaded to find at that very moment. "Hi," he managed to squeak. Clearing his throat, he quickly bowed low and greeted her back formally. "My Lady."
"Nothing," he answered truthfully, still bowing low before slowly rising. "I just needed a quiet place to think." And calm my freaking nerves, he silently thought to himself.
