So for those that voted (2 of us!) we had a 100% Yes Response to meet up sometime in August. The book discussion is The Book Thief for this month.

I am in the process of remodeling my house so I can't host ... but I was thinking maybe since we're small still we could just do it at a public venue. Like a park/beach (if during the day), or a restaurant (if at night).

Nancy --- if it's just us, that's ok with me ... we can make it real casual and plan the date whenever you finish reading the book. I did notify my sister-in-law and friend about this month's choice but I don't know that either of them have time to read it right now. I will follow up with them and see though. Hopefully September we can all get together --- afterall, September's book is a short one :)

What days/time work?: Monday-Friday after 5:30pm, Saturday-Sunday anytime. (The only days I can't do it are: Saturday 8/17 and Sunday 8/18)

Ok that sounds good to me. Mon-Tues anytime sat anytime Sunday after 6pm and yes we can do a public place of your choice. I'm still new to SD so Idk where to go.

Perfect .... How does Tuesday, August 27th Monday, August 26th 6:30pm. As far as the location goes ---- since you're new I'll pick some of my favorite places & then let you choose from them.


Emiliano's:
• 6690 Mission Gorge Rd, San Diego, CA 92120
• Mexican Sit-Down Restaurant:  SERIOUSLY delicious, reasonably priced, nice screened patio, overlooks golf course.   and it's fairly close to Mission Valley.

Oki-Ton:
• 2408 Northside Dr, San Diego, CA 92108
• Japanese/Sushi:  Also in Mission Valley and my favorite Sushi place around here.  They have great Japanese dishes too, amazing saki and a good atmosphere, + happy hour I think every day with half price apps/drinks.

Balboa Park:
• Park at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center
          1875 El Prado, San Diego, CA 92101
• Meet at the Bea Evenson Fountain
• See Balboa Park Map here (#11 is the Science Center and the Circle directly above it is the Fountain --- can't miss it when you're there!)
• I love going here to just walk around and look at pretty stuff. Very laid back, leisure, gardens, koi ponds, greenhouses, always new things to see (it's huge). And tons of museums and whatnot if you like that kind of thing. There are also little snack carts and such around.

Hi! I won't be able to make Tuesday. I work late on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And I definitely haven't had time to read the book. I'm going to finish my current book and start the September read. I'm still trying to figure out this app/website, so bare with me. :0)

Oh and Nancy: Kimberly is my friend/old neighbor that lives down Friars/Mission Gorge (probably less than 10 min from you).

So, considering you're both that way do you want to do either Emiliano's or Oki Ton? Unless Kimberly wants to host at her house? I'm fine with anything :) Even if we don't discuss the book it'd be good to get together.

(And so Veronica doesn't feel left out ..... If you are in Santee then that means that Kimberly is just as close to you as she is to Nancy --- almost right in the middle of you two).
