Rick (rockandice) | 7 comments I have two books that have been combined as editions but they are actually two different books by two different authors. I believe the mixup stems from an ISBN error that has been corrected. Is there a way to manually unlink the two books?

Rick (rockandice) | 7 comments Shortly after posting this, I found the tool for separating combined editions, so I believe it is fixed now. Thanks. :-)

Carrie Turansky (carrieturansky) | 17 comments Hi Friends, I posted this same message in the cleaning up a book list.

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but I am hoping someone can help me. I applied for Librarian status a couple days ago, but I have not heard back or received that yet.

I was trying to change the cover of my book, The Governess of Highland Hall. But the message popped up that only librarians can do that. So that is why I was trying to get librarian status.

Today I checked that book page again, and the cover was missing, but it said there were two editons of the book. I though perhaps I could combine the editions and add the cover. So I click over to combine editions. I saw that several of my books had various editions. So I checked them all, thinking I could combine all the editions while I was there.

What happened was several of my books all combined into one title, Snowflake Sweethearts. The others all disappeared. Obviously I've made a bad mistake. The Governess of Highland Hall, A Man Trust, Along Came Love, and Seeking His Love have all combined with Snowflake Sweethearts. Bummer!

How can I get Librarian status so I can correct this mistake and separate the books? It's odd that I can combine, but I am not allowed to separate or add a cover.

I'd sure appreciate your help and ideas on how to fix the mess I made.
Thanks very much,
Carrie - carrie@turansky.com

Vicky (librovert) | 2462 comments Carrie, I've separated out your books.

When you see a book that says it has multiple editions that is correct and it needs to further combining. When a book shows up twice on your book list, that is when it needs to be combined.

It often happens that authors have their own ideas of how their books should be on Goodreads which leads to cover changes and separations that go against Goodreads policy. Which is why authors can not delete covers (though you should be able to edit them).

Marius Gabriel | 2 comments Hello, I have somehow managed to combine all my English-language books under one edition -- abjectly sorry -- can a real Librarian please unlink them? Thank you so much!

These are the problem books:

Koenraad (koenraadkelemen) | 6993 comments #7 I think I got them all, please verify.
I moved Never Kiss A Stranger to the profile of Mary Gabriel, according to GR policy. If you want to claim the Mary Gabriel author profile, you will need a second Goodreads account, with a different email address than the one you have already and claim it here.

Marius Gabriel | 2 comments Thank you so much Koenraad. I really appreciate that. Mary Gabriel was one of my pseudonyms, but I don't need to claim it. Thanks again!!!
