I definitely agree with you - I suppose that is what makes the book so harrowing, the fact that its an accepted idea that naughty, unwanted or even children who are not 'worth' the cost of their care are unwound. I think its a really important idea that every single part of an unwind must, by law, be used. Is that just to placate the parents into thinking that their child is not dead, and therefore makes the idea more palatable?

Will be great for you to join in too Lynn - Perhaps as other people finish this one they will join in too :)
@Anima - Have you read unstrung? I haven't as I want to read Unwholly and then Unsouled on it's release date, but as it's 1.5 I figure it's rather separate to the story. I might read it after the third one...

You will get your spoilers answered is all I can say for now.
@Rebecca, I haven't read Unstrung, but I think I will leave it for later as well. Usually those books #.5 are giving the same story from a different POV or they add some details or dwell at lenght on some minor facts from the main story. I don't feel I have to read it now, I'm more interested in the main story.
I think it has to do with the whole idea of the unwind not being dead - So they do not see it as death, they see it simply as existing in a different way. Therefore, they see it as a better option than abortion, which is what caused the war.
@ Anima - I believe that Unstrung is the story from when Lev leaves CI-Fi and ends up in the Graveyard. So, not completely unrelated, but also not essential to the understanding of the story.
I just really loved this book !! I loved the way the author started the book introducing the characters and the way they all come together. This book will make u think. such a easy read and one of those books that I just could not put down! :)
