Okay Talia asked awhile back for a challenge based on Phase 10, so here is what I came up with. In this challenge you will have to complete all 10 phases,starting at phase 1. You can only go onto the next phase once you complete the one before. You can only work on one phase at a time.
The Phases: • Phase 1: 2 sets of 3 • Phase 2: 1 set of 3 + 1 run of 4 • Phase 3: 1 set of 4 + 1 run of 4 • Phase 4: 1 run of 7 • Phase 5: 1 run of 8 • Phase 6: 1 run of 9 • Phase 7: 2 sets of 4 • Phase 8: 7 books of one color OR( you can do 7 books each a different color) • Phase 9: 1 set of 5 + 1 set of 2 • Phase 10: 1 set of 5 + 1 set of 3
Each number stands for a different task. 1. Book title starts with A-M (not including A, An, The) 2. #1,2,3,or 4 in a series 3. Books cover is red,pink,purple,orange,or brown 4. A book recommended by a friend 5. Book title starts with N-Z (not including A, An, or The) 6. Location starts with A-M (state, country OR city (real or fantasy)) 7. 400+pages 8. Book cover green,blue,yellow, black,or white 9. Authors first name starts with N-Z 10. #5 or higher in a series 11. Authors first name starts with A-M 12. Location starts with N-Z (State, Country, OR city(real of fantasy))
- A “set” is more than one card of the SAME number. For example in phase 1 you could do 1 “set” of #2, which would mean you could read 3 books that are #1 in a series. Then you could do a “set” of #3 and read a book that is red, pink, and one that is orange.
- A “run” is numbers in a row. For example in phase 2 you have to do one set of three AND 1 run of 4(any four numbers in a row). Your run could be numbers 9,10,11,12, and read a book with an authors’s first name between N-Z, a book that is at least #5 in a series,a book with an author’s name between A-M, and a location that starts with N-Z. -unlike the original game, you can make your run go from 12 back to 1. for example a run of 4 could go 11,12,1,2.
Each “phase” you have a chance for a wildcard. Roll one Dice if you roll a 4, 5, or 6 you get ONE wild card to use in that phase.You only get to roll for a wildcard ONCE at the beginning of each phase.If you roll a 4,5,or 6 you can use your wildcard for ANY book in that phase. This will work on an honesty system so please play fair. =)
