As a heads up, our new monthly read for July is starting up on the first and it looks like the book of the month is going to be Empress Orchid.
There is also going to be a Book Support Group going in July for the reading of The Fellowship of the Ring. Feel free to join in discussions for one or both or none!!
Hello Scott!! Welcome to the book club! We look forward to your input on any of the books you decide to read or question us :D
My name is Scott Kaplan. I like pie.
On a side note, I love reading, obviously, or I wouldn't have joined this group. I enjoy mystery/thriller novels the most. Anything that commands my interest and makes it hard to put down are the best kinds of books. I'm not really good at liking non-mainstream books, and I'd like to learn more about books which is why I'll probably be participating in your guys' monthly reading challenges and book discussions. Otherwise I stick to the Dexter books (new one out in September!? AND A COMIC BOOK STARTING JULY 3RD? YAY.), the Repairman Jack book series by F. Paul Wilson, and Murakami's books, all of them, a majority of Stephen King's books and all of Joe Hill's books.
Other than reading full-time I try to find some to play them video games, though I've had less and less time, especially with a YLOD PS3.
I also love burgers. I know the best burgers in Chicago hands down, un-argued.
Also, full disclosure, I'm not big on Reddit. But I like books. So yay.
