Sartre is amazingly original and relevant, though he also has come under heavy criticism for his support to Castro's regime. And so were the people closest to him. TBRed.

I haven't read any specific book by him so far, but have read his fiction as well as studied in considerable detail his own thoughts in general, gleaned from his works. Existentialism had an immense impact on his philosophy.
