Do you recognize this book

I was reading a book a few years ago, put it down, and now I can't find it or remember the author or title.
It was about a planet on which a computer took care of all the messy details. People lived a carefree existence in which they could choose to have their bodies morphed into fantasy creatures. A recidivist faction took control of the computer and the surviving inhabitants had to go back to pre-20th century tech.
The leader of the camp central to the story was Duke Edward [?], a blacksmith.
