Matched Trilogy by Ally Condie

Well this thread has been silent since January, lol. I actually enjoyed Matched. But I have suffered through the next 2 just to know what happens. I'm on disk 10 of 11 for the last one right now and LITERALLY nothing happened of interest until disk 9... I had such high hopes.

I have decided that these books are more about prose and lovely words than about action and message...

What do you think?

I've read the 2 first books but haven't had time to read the last book yet. I agree with Becky that there is not a whole lot of action in these books. Anyway, l really liked the first book but there was something about the 2nd one that kind of left me hoping for more.

*SPOILER ALERT*
There wasn't so much happening and I was a bit disappointed when Cassia and Ky ended up joining the rebels. I just feel like this kind of thing happens in so many books that it's getting somewhat boring. However, I'm hoping there will be some interesting plot twists in the final book because I'm still definitely going to read it.

I liked the first one, but then it seems to me like it's just two lovers staring pointlessly into each other's eyes wondering about the future. It's so slow. It's almost painful.

That said the world set up in the first book is very interesting. I love to see a well fleshed-out dystopia and their rigid society is well presented. So good world building - awful pacing and plot, I suppose....

I’ve only read the first one and it’s been a couple of years and I didn’t plan on continuing with the series because I just felt like it was kind of boring and I didn’t connect to the characters. Would anyone recommend I try to continue on? Does it get better at all?
