Allergies bite Brenda. I have those too. Sorry to hear they are giving you fits today.

Brittany, that's a perfect pace for this group. You are in the right place.

Macaroni & Cheese, biscuits and pork chops? Yikes, what time is dinner??

I know what you mean. I've been on a pretty good streak myself. I am at 101 novels on the year. I have to hit at least 20 books a month now to feel like I've been doing any real reading.
Is she whipping your butt again Adam? HeHe

Chuck: 101 just this year?! Holy crap! I'm lucky if I get five in a month, which is my main goal. I used to -- before my wonderful munchkin came into this world -- crank out about 10-15 a month. Now I'm just overwhelmed with all the books I have. Most of which I have read before but it's been so long that I FORGET which ones I have and haven't read, lol.

Yeah, since January 1st.I look to add 5-6 more over the next few days. It would be a bit higher but I started abandoning books this year. Also I have a slew of books half read that I took off my currently reading shelf to finish at a later time. Goodreads is cool because when I add each one of those half-read books back to my currently reading shelf it will start from my last update. But yeah, 101 from start to finish this year. I know several people that are around the 200 mark, though.

You guys are putting me to shame. I'm not a fast reader, and have to admit, it's taking more effort than I thought to cut out that TV time for better quality reading time.

Don't worry Rick. It is currently taking me about five weeks to read a 400 page book. Guess I found an appropriate name for the group huh?

OK, here are my plans for tonight. I have to leave in about an hour and a half. I'm gonna read a bit out of Showdown, Flowers in the Attic, and start the Memphis Three book. Plan to read late tonight when I get home. Hopefully, I won't need any pain meds tonight.

LOL. I'm hoping to finish it by Nov. And I thought INFINITE JEST was tough! IJ reads like a pop-fiction book after ULYSSES. haha
11:37 p.m. and I'm over two hours late taking my meds. Just got home and want to read for a while, but I really need to take my medications, AS PRESCRIBED, for them to do any good. If I get sleepy within the next hour, I apologize. Following drs. orders is hard sometimes. I want to do it my way :(

But if you don't take the medication, I'm betting you're not going to feel like reading anyway. If you fall asleep, you probably need it! Relax and attack again in the morning!

On the upside, after you've finished this, you just know there is probably never going to be anything out there that is as difficult to tackle again! Plus it's a good reason to read fluff for a while.

I absolutely loved the Rubik's cube when I was a pre-teen.

Sorry folks, gotta call it a night. I did get some reading done tonight. Really need to take meds now and make an attempt at going to bed. Have a great night everyone!

Sweet dreams, mon amie .

Now just having a coffee before I face the mountain of laundry that awaits.
I need to get laundry done today also Courtney. Catching up on some post, just read around 35 pages or so in Flowers in the Attic, and plan to read for another hour or so before I venture out of the house for the day. Beautiful day here. Lower 70's F.

Is that worth it? my 4 yr old is obsessed with thomas and the closest it comes here is 350 miles away. its not till September but its the weekend he turns 5 so were thinking of doin that instead of a party.

My boys loved it. Was it worth it? Ehh, well my boys would say yes. It was $25/person, so $100 for the four of us to go, plus all of the eating out, the hotel, the three-hour drive each way... Not a cheap night away, but it was a lot of fun.
The $25 included a ride on Thomas (which was like a half hour long, I was impressed), and tons of activities - there was face-painting, a petting zoo, lots of crafts, a couple of bouncy castles, and a bunch of other stuff. I'm sure your boy would love it, especially if he is a huge Thomas fan :)

I am still a couple of episodes behind (watching on my kindle fire). I really expected junior to be different, but I do enjoy the show. although I do miss some of the characters and relationships in the book. The old hippie guy/young chick who adopted the kids/ Barbie already being established in the town/ Rusty being at the hospital / the chick with little walter?....I find myself keep expecting them to appear.

I loved Bates Motel too. I kept getting confused with the time frame at the beginning, because mom dressed old-fashioned and they drove an old car. Kept getting whiplash when new technology would show up.
