As for the thread...putting down Wolf Hall...a treasure so far and cueing up Sherlock...season 2 ep 2....love it."
Just finished WOLF HALL. I LOVED IT!

You have 7 damaged vertebrae, Adam? Yowsers!

Did you get hurt at work?Regardless, I wouldn't resign. I don't think you can get unemployment if you do that.

Adam isn't it illegal for your employer to do that? But the stress and hassle of it all must be stressing you out even more. Good look in getting your cars fixed:)
Cindy, best of luck on your interview. Glad to see you're up to working!

That's pretty shady, Adam. You may want to consult an attorney.
Way to sleeeeeeeeepy! Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.

It got better today. HR rep calls up and tells me that they are considering keeping me on the books. But she didn't know what the decision was. The suspense is killing me. Really. I'm dead now.
Anyway, that was a positive spin for once.
Maybe your attorney contacted them and gave them a refresher course on labor law? Just a thought. I'm glad you got some potentially good news Adam.

I noticed you're reading the great Glass Elevator with Emily your daughter, that's really good:) It was one of my favourite times of my day when I read to my boys. It turned one of them into an avid reader:-)

Good luck Addy and I'm sure you will do fine. Anybody that can stay home with small children can do great in the workforce as well.

As for reading with the kids, I have always done it. We swap chapters now, since she is a great reader.

Adam, I hope your employer sees sense, they can't fire you for being off sick. Hope you get good news soon.
Orientation went well, but was a bit stressful. I only had 1/4 tank gas when I left the house and had to drive 20 miles for the orientation. Then I was told that my drivers license was expired and I had to get a current one before they could send me to work. I had to backtrack another 12 miles the other way and spend $20 that I absolutely didn't have to get the license renewed. It's OK, I'm gonna stay positive about this. I DID make it home without running out of gas and I DID get all my paperwork straightened out. Now I'm keeping fingers crossed that the work actually starts before two weeks like I was told today.

That sounds like something that would happen to me.

Couldn't afford a root canal. :-( (insurance not enough)
Hurting now, kinda all around. Trying to figure out if I have dry socket, and if I should call. Or if it's all normal pain. It's been 6 days. I have a high tolerance for pain having suffered through many Crohn's flares. But my mouth is ouchies.
Took pain meds. And it's helping.
Oh well.
That's what I am up to, then going to read.
Doing a buddy read of "The Way of Kings", Brandon Sanderson. Good do far, I'm about 100 pages or so in.
On my phone, so I apologize for not linking the book.
Cheers.

If he was a finicky eater, he may not be anymore. After I had the same procedure done at 5, I started eating everything.

I didn't know your little boy was ill Joycedale. I hope he's going to be OK now, its always worrying when your kids have to have operations. Has he been ill for a long time?

He's never been sick. he's always been a mouth breather but we thought it was allergies so he takes prescription zyrtec. He ended up failing 3 hearing tests at school and we was sent to an ear, nose and throat dr to see if he needed tubes in his ears. That dr was the one that noticed his adenoids were massive. After the operation he said they actually had his nostrils almost completely blocked, which explained why his nose always seemed to be stuffed up. He freaked out when waking up and it took me and my husband about 10 mins to get him to calm down but he's doing great now. He's been running around the house while/and watching veggie tales since we got home.

That would be nice. I can't never find anything more than 1 person will eat

What? You don't have the "you git what you git and you don't have a fit" policy?

Normal reaction.
Both my boys had to have tubes inserted, and adenoids out, and one had tonsils out.
Incidentally, I had an ear tube put in my ear today at my office visit with my ENT.
For over a year I've had right ear issues, affecting hearing, lots of fluid in there too.

Thanks Gary. I called the temp agency yesterday and they are hoping to here from the company by the end of the week, so I have my fingers crossed for a nice Valentine's Day.

Getting ready to watch a movie with Jeff. It is a western and I'm not into westerns much, but it is a Clint Eastwood flick. Watched a really good movie last night. It was called Flight.

Is it one of his early ones where he was young. He was so good looking back then.
So its fingers crossed for Friday then, hope it goes already for then.
It was called The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, Angie. It actually wasn't bad, but it was long. Almost three hours.
I got a bit frustrated today because the temp agency said the company I'm supposed to work for still hasn't called them. In an attempt to get that crap out of my mind I did what all good people do when they just want to escape for a while - I started yet another book. Now I have three going at the same time.

Haven't read any today. Just chilling with Jeff. May read some later tonight since I stayed in bed until well after noon.
