I've got the last part of the Passage to read as well, but the end is good:) I love Salem's lot the book, its one of my favourite Stephen King books.
I started the Passage, but not sure how I feel about it. It seems slow going. They are at the Camp in the mountains.
I love the way Justin Cronin writes and wolgast is such a sad man. He's trying so hard . I'm near the end but near the end still means 150 pages to read. I'm sat watching the sleepy hollow TV show. Nick came round for dinner and brought KFC, yum.

That's a really excellent book. Hang in there.

I watched the miniseries yesterday for first time in at least twenty years, and it held up surprisingly well. It certainly serves as a template for King miniseries that have been done since. The special effects were cheesy, but there were so few of them, relying more on the off screen type of horror which was more acceptable for the seventies. I definitely want to reread the book again soon.
Addy wrote: "Got a copy of It, Lost Boy Lost Girl by Straub, The Listeners by Pike, and a copy of To Kill a Mocking Bird at GW today:)"nice finds, Addy! You should join us on this thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
What am I up to at the moment? Freezing my ass off at a rugby game my 12 and 14 year old boys are playing in. The wind is gusting up to 30 mph and the wind chill is 7 degrees. A blanket plus 4 layers of clothing including thermal underwear is doing little to help. Insanity at its finest. i brought John Shirley's Black Butterflies
to read, but my eyes are glazed over with ice.
It 5.15pm here and I've just put the sleepy hollow TV show on. I'll watch a couple of episodes then go back to reading. I enjoyed watching Salem's lot but it didn't have the extras his other miniseries have but it is decades old! It was cheesey but I still enjoyed watching.Don't know how your managing to be outside in that cold Evans, and your kids must feel like icicles!! I'm in my flat with a throw and I'm still cold.
About to go get my daughter her early birthday present, a puppy. I don't know if my back can take it...
Adam wrote: "About to go get my daughter her early birthday present, a puppy. I don't know if my back can take it..."Be careful when you're out Adam but I hope you enjoy picking out a puppy:-) what kind are you looking for? I bet your daughter will be over the moon!
Adam wrote: "We just found out the owner decided not to sell. :(. Glad I didn't tell Emily."You should dress up in a puppy suit and get in a box. You're already trained to go in the backyard, so I see no reason to let Emily down at this point.
Down boy! Down!
Addy wrote: "Sounds like good old fashioned fun Evans!...;)"Old fashioned like the German army freezing to death during their Russian invasion. Much more cold weather like this, and I'm moving down to Florida with Adam.

Adam, your brother gives some sound advice.
Aww, sorry to hear that Adam. At least your daughter was unaware.Nah, I was just pulling your leg Evans. Sounds terrible. I'm hating the cold weather too. Buy me a ticket if u decide to go to Florida. Adam, I hope you have room over there!
Just finished my new website have a look would welcome any constructive feedback pleasewww.bookwormedreviews.com
I fell asleep when I went to see it. For the last hour of it! I'm going to look at your web site in a few minutes Sam I'm sure it'll be fantastic:)
Adam wrote: "Supposed to hit 80 here today or tomorrow. About to go see Catching Fire. Hope it is worth it."Okay, I'm pretty gullible. You are kidding when you say 80 right? I mean, we're lucky to stay about zero here in New Hampshire, you can't really be serious about 80. Right?
Its still raining here. You're so lucky Adam, all that sun! I'm sat trying to catch up with things as I fell asleep at 8pm and pretty much didn't wake up till 11am.Is it always that cold in the winter where you are Mama?
It's a bit colder than usual with the wind chill. Schools have closed 4 days so far this month.Single digits are normal for Jan and Feb.
That's a lot of days closed. You must have to do lots of school work with your kids so they keep up to date. Its midnight here and as usual raining. I've got Shrek 2 on the TV. I love the cat. And I'm nearly at the end of the Wasp factory. What a strange book its been.

The website looks great, Sam! Keep up the good work.
I apologize sincerley for my absence. In the last month I have been hospitalized twice, broke my back, and had back surgery. I only hope that my friends will find it in their hearts to forgive me. I am just now getting to the point where I can sit for more than ten minutes without being in excruciating pain. I have missed the group and my friends so much it hurts. Going to make an attempt at reading again and spend at least some time on GR's daily. Man, I have missed you guys!
Welcome back, Cindy! Been worried about you. So sorry to hear of your struggles. Hope you are on the mend.
Thank you Evans. I am glad to be back.
Hey Chuck! So happy to be back! I apologize for my absence. I really missed you guys.
So glad to hear from you! I was wondering what happened. I broke two vertebrae in my back (t1 and t3) not quite two years ago. Didn't have surgery, though, Getting in and out of bed was a serious process. I am sure I don't need to tell you that, though. Right now is when you could use some audiobooks, hehe. I am wishing you a full and speedy recover!
Thank you Chuck. They actually put concrete in my back. I had never heard of that before. The pain is still pretty intense, but I'm sure it will get better. Just seems like it is taking forever. I have a lot of reading to catch up on :)
