Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments I just saw the Glick part. Unless I am just confused, it seems it is Ralphie that was tapping the window.

message 1652: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments Yes that right, I'm always getting names wrong!! That's the part that gave my nightmares when I was a kid.

message 1653: by Addy (new)

Addy | 379 comments Cool. When would u all want to do this?

Gregor Xane (gregorxane) | 106 comments Adam wrote: "Salems Lot is one I would reread as well. It has been a loooong time."

I just read it for the first time within the past five years. It holds up well and is one of my favorites of King's.

message 1655: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments I have got to finish The Passage or I never will. After that, I will do Salems Lot.

message 1656: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments I have 250 pages left. Ugh.

message 1657: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments It was always one of my favorite King books as well. Frightful as hell.

message 1658: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I've got the last part of the Passage to read as well, but the end is good:) I love Salem's lot the book, its one of my favourite Stephen King books.

message 1659: by Nikki (new)

Nikki I started the Passage, but not sure how I feel about it. It seems slow going.
They are at the Camp in the mountains.

message 1660: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I love the way Justin Cronin writes and wolgast is such a sad man. He's trying so hard . I'm near the end but near the end still means 150 pages to read. I'm sat watching the sleepy hollow TV show. Nick came round for dinner and brought KFC, yum.

message 1661: by ☆Joycedale☆ (new)

☆Joycedale☆ | 307 comments Yummy KFC. Haven't had that in yrs, since it closed down in our town.

message 1662: by Nikki (new)

I love the movie, and believe it or not, just read the book for the first time over halloween. Loved it!

message 1665: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments I watched the miniseries yesterday for first time in at least twenty years, and it held up surprisingly well. It certainly serves as a template for King miniseries that have been done since. The special effects were cheesy, but there were so few of them, relying more on the off screen type of horror which was more acceptable for the seventies. I definitely want to reread the book again soon.

Evans Light (evanslight) What am I up to at the moment? Freezing my ass off at a rugby game my 12 and 14 year old boys are playing in. The wind is gusting up to 30 mph and the wind chill is 7 degrees. A blanket plus 4 layers of clothing including thermal underwear is doing little to help. Insanity at its finest. i brought John Shirley's Black Butterflies Black Butterflies by John Shirley to read, but my eyes are glazed over with ice.

message 1668: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments It 5.15pm here and I've just put the sleepy hollow TV show on. I'll watch a couple of episodes then go back to reading. I enjoyed watching Salem's lot but it didn't have the extras his other miniseries have but it is decades old! It was cheesey but I still enjoyed watching.

Don't know how your managing to be outside in that cold Evans, and your kids must feel like icicles!! I'm in my flat with a throw and I'm still cold.

Be careful when you're out Adam but I hope you enjoy picking out a puppy:-) what kind are you looking for? I bet your daughter will be over the moon!

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments We just found out the owner decided not to sell. :(. Glad I didn't tell Emily.

Evans Light (evanslight) Adam wrote: "We just found out the owner decided not to sell. :(. Glad I didn't tell Emily."

You should dress up in a puppy suit and get in a box. You're already trained to go in the backyard, so I see no reason to let Emily down at this point.

Down boy! Down!

Evans Light (evanslight) Addy wrote: "Sounds like good old fashioned fun Evans!...;)"

Old fashioned like the German army freezing to death during their Russian invasion. Much more cold weather like this, and I'm moving down to Florida with Adam.

Adam, your brother gives some sound advice.

message 1676: by Addy (new)

Addy | 379 comments Aww, sorry to hear that Adam. At least your daughter was unaware.

Nah, I was just pulling your leg Evans. Sounds terrible. I'm hating the cold weather too. Buy me a ticket if u decide to go to Florida. Adam, I hope you have room over there!

message 1677: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments we have rots of room!

Rick Shepard Adam wrote: "Supposed to hit 80 here today or tomorrow. About to go see Catching Fire. Hope it is worth it."

Okay, I'm pretty gullible. You are kidding when you say 80 right? I mean, we're lucky to stay about zero here in New Hampshire, you can't really be serious about 80. Right?

message 1688: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments Sorry, Rick. It was all true.

message 1689: by Nikki (new)

Nikki -8 with Wind Chills -30 to -40

message 1690: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments Its still raining here. You're so lucky Adam, all that sun! I'm sat trying to catch up with things as I fell asleep at 8pm and pretty much didn't wake up till 11am.

Is it always that cold in the winter where you are Mama?

message 1691: by Nikki (new)

Nikki It's a bit colder than usual with the wind chill. Schools have closed 4 days so far this month.

Single digits are normal for Jan and Feb.

message 1692: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments That's a lot of days closed. You must have to do lots of school work with your kids so they keep up to date. Its midnight here and as usual raining. I've got Shrek 2 on the TV. I love the cat. And I'm nearly at the end of the Wasp factory. What a strange book its been.

I apologize sincerley for my absence. In the last month I have been hospitalized twice, broke my back, and had back surgery. I only hope that my friends will find it in their hearts to forgive me. I am just now getting to the point where I can sit for more than ten minutes without being in excruciating pain. I have missed the group and my friends so much it hurts. Going to make an attempt at reading again and spend at least some time on GR's daily. Man, I have missed you guys!

message 1695: by Evans (new)

Evans Light (evanslight) Welcome back, Cindy! Been worried about you.
So sorry to hear of your struggles. Hope you are on the mend.

message 1699: by GeneralTHC (last edited Jan 28, 2014 05:39PM) (new)

GeneralTHC So glad to hear from you! I was wondering what happened. I broke two vertebrae in my back (t1 and t3) not quite two years ago. Didn't have surgery, though, Getting in and out of bed was a serious process. I am sure I don't need to tell you that, though. Right now is when you could use some audiobooks, hehe. I am wishing you a full and speedy recover!

message 1700: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you Chuck. They actually put concrete in my back. I had never heard of that before. The pain is still pretty intense, but I'm sure it will get better. Just seems like it is taking forever. I have a lot of reading to catch up on :)
