This snow is relentless! Ah well, might as well enjoy it. Thank you Angie. He's still not himself but hopefully soon:)
I'm in Cincinnati and we've gotten about 5 inches of snow since last night. The yard looks beautiful and I love it when my dog Charlie comes in with a snowy nose. It's a perfect day to snuggle under my great-grandmother's quilt with a cup of coffee and a great book.
We have had 2.5" of rain here and temps in the 50's. Still the kind of weather for getting cozy with a book and coffee.
Its 5.30 am now, and I need to but down my nexus, stop reading and try and sleep for a couple of hours. I want hot water but my boiler broke yesterday so the waters freezing!! I think I'm going back on plants v zombies2:-)
My son has come round for the evening and we've just but Fellowship of the Ring on. We've watched it lots but I love it.
Well didn't watch my movie last night. My son is miserable. Took him to the doctor and he has an ear infection. All I do us carry him when he's awake. My arms are soo sore! Oh well, gives me more time to read:)
Just home from getting my hair cut and now hanging out on GR for a while. Expecting bitter cold tonight (below zero) so I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere else. Looking forward to some football!
Convalescing on the couch watching Raising Arizona with the family. Getting ready for some playoffs.
Waiting for my hubby to come back from helping a neighbor with his truck so my daughter and I can hit the library and Walmart.
Addy I hope he starts to feel better soon. Eye infections hurt! The poor little guy:(. Adam I hope you're getting some sleep now at least. Raising Arizona is a great film and I've not seen it for years so I think that might go on my list! Nick bought Lethal weapon on blu ray for a tenner today ( for all 4)so I'm looking forward to watching them again!!
Woke up to having 2 texts saying church is cancelled which I thought was weird because I only remember it being cancelled once when a snow storm knocked out power. I open the curtain and there's probably 5 inches of snow and still coming down like crazy. This means my kids won't have school tomorrow and they're driving me crazy. Since the friday before thanksgiving they've only went 5 days because of holiday breaks and snow days.
Yeah. I decided not to go to church. I'm feeling under the weather and a snowstorm is suppose to hit us as well. Fun times!
I hope your not catching your sons illness Addy. We still haven't had any snow just lots and lots of rain. Its Creasy that your kids have had so much time of school now Joycedale. Is it like this every year or is this year having more snow than usual?
Sorry to hear about all the illness and snowboundishness, and I hope everyone gets better. As for the snow, well, I hate snow. I am glad I live in Florida, but I grew up in West Virginia and Tennessee and am well acquainted with the stuff, and feel bad for you. I am still pretty much horizontal, so I will be watching football all day again.
I grew up in WV too so I think all these snow days are crazy, I never got them lol. I wish the public school worked like my son's preschool. They will be open but no bus, we only live a block from it so we walk.
Great. Now my other son is sick and me too. This sucks soo bad. Sorry. That's my gripe of the day. I hate the snow and the cold....need to move, lol.

Addy wrote: "Great. Now my other son is sick and me too. This sucks soo bad. Sorry. That's my gripe of the day. I hate the snow and the cold....need to move, lol."I'm sorry to hear that Addy, I know what's it like when you're sick and so are the kids. Moms shouldn't be able to get sick

Carolina (its close to Fairmont if you know of it) it was the same way. There was only one road into the town and if you didn't see the sign at the turnoff you missed it lol. I loved growing up there though, I wanted to move my kids back there but the first time I took my husband to visit family there was a snowstorm that night. He said never in a million yrs would he live there trying to drive up the hills in that weather lol.
I'm watching Cool Runnings with my kids. I mustve watch this hundreds of times when I was younger and they've never seen it
I always wanted to do a blog but since my internet access is stictly phone it seems like it would be a pain lol
My new Christine feehan book Dark Wolf just came. This means that's being read today, so I'm staying in with my cat snuggled next to me with lots of tea.

Not really one of my favorites, but I like the story's. There's 25 of them now though so its getting a lot predictable. But I read it then a give the book to my friends and family to read. I'm more looking forward to reading The Wasp Factory, that arrived at the same time but I don't think we're starting it til Monday.

I have The Wasp Factory, too. I got a little too ambitious with my reading goals and have books scattered all about the house as it is. I am thinking The Passage is going to take up most of my reading time, though. I try not to read blurbs or reviews so books will hold an element of surprise, so after 65 pages I am truly hooked and can't wait to find out what it is all about.
Joycedale. My step-grandma lives in Fairmont, stepdad grew up there. That is a beautiful town, and home to one of the best Pizza places in the world.
I love the Passage Adam, its one of my favourite books. My son got me as a gift a couple of years ago. Ive read part 2, the twelve as well, and I enjoyed that as well. I can't wait for the last part to be published.
Thanks Joycedale! Finally feeling better. I had to ask my husband to stay home with me and he did. It really helped with 2 little ones sick as well.Kathleen, I'm a stay at home mom as well:) Always thought a blog would be cool but, no computer. Wouldn't even know how to begin...lol.
I was a stay at home mum to 4 kids, but I made celebration cakes for people. It started of because I made all the kids birthday cakes and they got more elaborate. Planes, cars and Disney characters. Then friends wanted them and it went on from there. I can't use the PC either Addy, there's one in my living room but the kids use that when they come round. That and the washing machine!I hope your kids soon start to feel better Addy:)
Thank you Angie:) I think we are well on our way now. I even ordered Chinese today. Got tired of drinking soup.

I miss the pepperoni rolls the most. I can't make dinner rolls to save my life and my mom doesn't make them anymore. Last time I was there in Feb I find out one place will ship them but its $3 a roll plus shipping.
Yes I got so sick of cooking that I got nick round and we ordered in, only pizza but we watched the last of the lethal weapon films so it was fun.
Joycedale, that is unbelievable! Every time my stepdad goes up there he btings back a couple dozen pepperoni rolls! We also get jars of hot pepper sauce. I never imagined meeting anyone else familiar with those pepperoni rolls.
I love baking! It started as I couldn't afford the cakes from the shop, they were so expensive. And in the end I learnt how to do all the sugar craft techniques. Its relaxing to sit and make flowers and people and little creatures that people can eat.
Omg I can't believe I forgot about the hot pepper sauce! We used to make meatball hoagies and goulash with it.

I never really learned how to make the fancy stuff but I did take a Wiltons decorating class at hobby lobby now my friends have me do theirs.
Plus my kids like it better because they can choose whatever type of cake they want. Once my other son requested banana cake with marshmallow icing which was surprisingly awesome.
That's really cool Joycedale. One of mine wanted a three layer choc cake with each layer being white, milk and dark. Then it was covered in a chocolate gnash which is like a shiny fudge chocolate. Then I made different coloured chic stars. It looked really good in the end. How do you make marshmallow frosting? I use a different type of icing but that one sounds delicious!! Its great that you're also a cake maker:-)
