Evans Light (evanslight) Looks like the only two books we all have are Endless Night and Body Rides.

Time to stand guard over my thrift store treasures.

Evans, what's the most crackin' Laymon read you've read so far?

message 1453: by Evans (last edited Dec 06, 2013 05:55PM) (new)

Evans Light (evanslight) I think Body Rides is my favorite so far, that or The Woods are Dark.

Friday Night in Beast House was the worst so far, even though All Hallows Eve was a close second in the bad column.

Actually, maybe Savage was the worst. If that was the one with Jack the Ripper, then yes - that was my least favorite.

Thanks, Mr. Light.

Evans Light (evanslight) What about you?

message 1456: by Gregor (new)

Gregor Xane (gregorxane) | 106 comments Evans wrote: "What about you?"

I don't believe I've read any Laymon. If I have, it was sometime in my teens, I'd say. I've known of him for a long, long time. I'm trying to figure out which one to pick up first.

message 1457: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I'll have to read more of them to get my least favourite.
Has any one read Dean Koonz s What the Night knows?

No, I've not read that one.

message 1459: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments My favorite so far would be Body Rides, closely followed by After Midnight and Into The Fire. Least so far would be Resurrection Dreams, which would have been great except for a terrible ending, and No Sanctuary. There are a lot more to read, so those could change.

message 1460: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments I haven't read anything new from Koontz since Forever Odd or Your Heart Belongs To Me. He wrote some of my favorite all time books, though.

message 1461: by Gregor (new)

Gregor Xane (gregorxane) | 106 comments Thanks, Adam and Evans, for your Laymon suggestions, but I think I'm going to start with The Travelling Vampire Show. I like the premise for this one. I'm a sucker for circus/carnival settings. Flesh also had a premise I liked, but it seems everyone dislikes that one.

message 1462: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments Both of them are okay, Travelling Vampire being quite a bit more lively than Flesh. Flesh was surprisingly boring to me. Travelling Vampire was a fun read, and actually a great starting point for you, Gregor.

message 1463: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments Adam, what do you think k of The Stake, I wasn't sure if it was any good. I hope we do another R.L. buddy read after we've finished Endess Night. It's been good reading through his novels

message 1464: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments I haven't read The Stake yet, Angie. Oh and I enjoy these reads, too. I am sure we could do another.

Neither do I, it's been explained to me step by step. And more than once as well!!

☆Joycedale☆ | 307 comments Playing monopoly with my kids. its been 3 hrs already, everyone's quit except my 8 yr old. He won't lol

message 1467: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I used to have monopoly tournaments with my kids, they used to play and if they won they'd get to stay up late, lol. It was lots of fun:)

message 1468: by GeneralTHC (new)

GeneralTHC Has anyone heard from Cindy?

message 1469: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments No, haven't heard from her in a long time, Chuck. I've been wondering about her, though.

message 1470: by GeneralTHC (new)

GeneralTHC Man, I hope she's okay. It's been like a month, I think, since she's posted.

message 1471: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments Yeah. And I know she wasn't doing well at that time. The thing I hate about social media is that people sometimes vanish, and we are left unable to find them. I do hope she checks in with us sometime soon.

message 1472: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I hadn't realised it had been that long, I hope she's doing ok. I've just been trying to find the base of the Christmas tree, I think I threw it out when I moved. Crap!

message 1473: by Rick (new)

Rick Shepard I've tried sending her pm's, but haven't received any responses.

Angie | 623 comments At the moment I'm thinking crap, I've stayed up all night again!! I've got a busy day as well. I should be used to it by now:) It's 5,50 am. Crazy

message 1476: by ☆Joycedale☆ (new)

☆Joycedale☆ | 307 comments I hate the snow. Between it and thanksgiving my kids have only went to school 3 days in the last 3 weeks. 2day I opened up a new canister of coffee, I love that smell. So I'm going to sit here with a cup and try to get some reading done before they all get up. My 8 yr old is sitting here quietly watching cartoons.

message 1477: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I've got Darker than Black on tv, it's only a short run animee but it's one of my favourites. No snow here just lots of really cold rain.

Were the schools shut because of the snow? They must love that, if ever our schools shut in the snow my kids got so excited, but it was rare! I'm going to see The Hobbit tomorrow but I didn't really like all the changes that were made. I just want to see the Dragon:)

message 1478: by ☆Joycedale☆ (new)

☆Joycedale☆ | 307 comments Yes its because of snow. They had a week and half out for thanksgiving and went back for 3 days when the snow hit. As of right now they haven't canceled for tomorrow but we're supposed to get hit with ice about 5am. When I was a kid we hardly ever had a snow day so we loved them too but my kids and nephews are getting anxious to get back.

message 1479: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments If it's that much ice it's not the same as being able to play in the snow. They must be getting bored as well, it's a lot of time of! What have you been doing to entertain them?

message 1480: by ☆Joycedale☆ (new)

☆Joycedale☆ | 307 comments Lol it was snow but now we're expecting ice. We went to the library a few times and they went sledding with their friends and we've went through tons of hot chocolate and dvds

message 1481: by ☆Joycedale☆ (new)

☆Joycedale☆ | 307 comments Plus there have been sleepovers since all parents are going crazy.

message 1482: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments I can imagine!! My group of mums used to alternate sleep overs so we all got the chance of a night of, but I always loved having all the kids round. Now I do the same with my grandson. Do your kids have their favourite DVD s that they want to watch all the time?

message 1483: by Rick (new)

Rick Shepard We just got hit with our first snow storm of the season. somewhere between 12" and 18". I worked like crazy to get my snow blower going, and it wasn't until just after the snow started to fall, that it finally started for the first time this year. Timing is everything!!

Well that worked out for you

O yes I think if I have to watch Willie Wonka or Monster High one more time I may scream. The ice wasn't as bad as predicted and a lot of the snow has melted 2day so hopefully they go back tomorrow. If they don't the parents may revolt lol.

I watched that last night, what a different look for Matt Damon. I wasn't to sure at first but I ended up really liking it!!

Yanice | 18 comments I should be preparing dinner (Fajitas) but I don't want to quit the computer and the christams songs I'm listening to.

message 1488: by Angie (last edited Dec 16, 2013 10:01AM) (new)

Angie | 623 comments I've got Nick, my son round for dinner today. And it's his turn to cook. It should be interesting, lol. And we're watching Shoot em Up, which is amusing in its own crazy way!

message 1489: by Addy (new)

Addy | 379 comments Need to make dinner.....i don't much like cooking but gotta do it (sigh). Pretty uneventful day. Missing my extended family. Never get to spend the holidays with them, so Christmas is pretty low key.

Steven (tbones) | 55 comments What am I doing right at this moment? Patiently waiting to taste test the cookies that should be coming out of the oven soon while typing this and listening to my stomach growl :o)

message 1491: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 55 comments Oh and Shoot Em Up was such a kick butt movie. I gotta get a copy of that soon. Oh and look at that, you got a Nick and I got a Nick so snazzy :o)

message 1492: by Evans (new)

Evans Light (evanslight) Shoot em up is a crazy good (and misunderstood) movie

message 1493: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 55 comments I do think it's interesting that there is a similar scene in that that is in the first Jason Bourne movie but still Shoot Em Up...I love the bad guy in it and the movie had lots of memorable scenes

Can I have some of your cookies, homemade at that. Yummy. I spent the day trying to sort out the polls for January. It took me ages, so now I've got the x-files on. I'm up to s.4.

message 1495: by Rick (new)

Rick Shepard I loved X-Files. I think Season 4 was probably my favorite. I hear there are rumors that they may make a third movie. It's been quite a while, so I'd love to see what comes of it.

message 1496: by GeneralTHC (new)

GeneralTHC Watching THE WIZARD OZ--love it! They were just so talented back then.

message 1497: by Angie (new)

Lina (booksnotlovers) Scrolling the cheapest online bookstore I know for some new books. I got money for Christmas, and I'm gonna use a whole lot of it on books.
