What are you up to at the moment?

Got home late tonight and haven't had much sleep lately. Want to read for at least an hour tonight but I'm cutting it off by at least 12. I really need a minimum of five hours sleep tonight. Wish the dream genie would show up and tell me I could make a decent living off reading books. Then I could actually get some sleep and tell my employer to take a hike. Oh well, for now I'll just settle to be grateful to have a job. Will check back in about every half hour or so. Reading in the meantime.

Damn. I remember the day I got mine, too. I had read it already though. ;). Lots of times! I love it.
I'm cooking dinner, taking a shower, catching up on some posts, then I need to leave the house by 6:00 p.m. and will be gone until around 10:00 p.m. tonight. In-between all the other stuff, I am reading a little.
Used books at the Library sale! First printing PET SEMATARY hardback and Joe R. Lansdales THE BOTTOMS for fifty cents each, and BOOKS OF BLOOD VOL 4-6 for just a little more. Score! ; ) Have a happy Wednesday everyone.
nice score evans!I'm enjoying my 3 hrs of alone time. team kids starting back at church this week and my youngest is old enough to go now. thought it meant me and the hubby would get a weekly date but of course he got switched to evening shift a couple of weeks ago.
REALLY sick tonight. Sorry folks but I've got to go to bed.
Sorry, Cindy. Is it possible that we are all passing this shit back and forth virtually? I've been sick, too. Hope you feel better soon..

Needavacationitis....hmmm. I like that. I also like Vanwinkle-ism. Sleeping all day would be a vacation in itself, except id prob want to read all day. Either way, I sure need one:)

Good for you, Joycedale! It was a fun song back in the day!sits back in the rocking chair on the front porch, drinking lemonade, considering putting in teeth and maybe doing a little quilting
I took off work today and slept until after noon. Ate some chicken noodle soup and finished Devil's Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three. Plan to do a lot of reading today and just stay home. Never too far from the bathroom, just in case. I do feel a little better at least.

It couldn't have been that long ago. I vaguely remember it coming out. It just seems like a long time ago...let's go with that...
I'm off tomorrow, and I plan on doing a lot of catching up on my reading. A cup of coffee in one hand, and one of our books in the other. It doesn't get any better than that!
The crud has invaded the household. Hoping that sequestering the sick will keep our misery to a minimum (bring out your dead...)On the plus side, INSIDIOUS 2 came out this weekend, so there's that to look forward to...

Hilarious!
Just got done my bike ride:) Did it early today! I also finished Live Girls by Ray Garton. I cannot recommend this book enough. Pure awesomeness!
I'm getting ready to leave for a while, but I will get home much earlier tonight. Definitely gonna finish one book tonight.
Addy wrote: "Just got done my bike ride:) Did it early today! I also finished Live Girls by Ray Garton. I cannot recommend this book enough. Pure awesomeness!"I thought about that one not too long ago, but put it in the queue. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Adam wrote: "Garton is a good writer. I liked Ravenous."I was just walking by my bookshelves and discovered that I have a Ray Garton paperbook there, The Loveliest Dead
.Anybody read that one? I must have picked it up during one of my paperback frenzies. Must have decent reviews or else I wouldn't have bought it.
I'm really not familiar at all with Garton.
I am so excited!! Finally getting caught up on all these books I've been reading forever. I have refrained from starting anything new for several weeks now and extremely happy I made that decision. I might even decide to pick up the one book I have on my abandoned shelf just because.
I've heard of the Lovliest Dead but that's about it. Ravenous is suppose to be good. That's the next one I'd like to read next, but I want the paperback. Its cheaper than the eBook.
Garton seems to be surfacing a lot on here as of late. I picked up Ravenous at the library only because it was a quarter. I don't really like werewolf books. I thought it was pretty damn good, though. So I bought the sequel. Apparently Live Girls is awesome as well.
Checking out GR and about to get back to my book. I've read about 150 pages today, got 350 pages to go--I swear to God I'm reading this before I go to bed. I guess I better get after it.
Having a lovely morning drinking coffee and checking in on GR after many days away. Just finished a fantastic memoir and am now searching for something new. I have 11 new library books and have read 1 chapter of each--just can't decide what I'm in the mood for next! Decisions, decisions...
It's called Borrowed Time: An AIDS Memoir by Paul Monette--a story of a gay couple very early on in the epidemic. Very powerfully written.
I'm getting ready to go visit my son. He had a wreck today and totaled his car. He is banged up but I think he is OK. OMG, the stress level is off the charts today. It was already a stressful day before I heard about this. Will get back online later.

Thank God that it wasn't worse! It was a t-bone at 55 m.p.h. and all that happened to him is a broken fibia and his hand went completely through the windshield. It is pretty mangled, but no break. How in the hell is that even possible? He is on muscle relaxers and pain killers. Off work until he sees an orthopedic surgeon.
