When on foot, there are times when one mile seems incredibly long to me.

I've never seen a curbside mailbox in Utah, except for those in the drive-through lane at the post office.
Here's a lass looking for a good spot to read. Bronte Beach in the background is where we have been taking our evening walks this week. The sea was wild last night .
Lobstergirl wrote: "What a lovely beach area. Did your huz take the photo?"Yes he did. There is a walkway connecting the eastern beaches and bays near where I live . North of Bronte we have Tamarama and Bondi beaches and south is Clovelly, Coogee and Maroubra beaches.
Bronte is about 8km from the CBD and about 4km from my place.
Little and I took a stroll through the neighborhood up to the Elementary school. It was a good walk for such little legs but he loved it. He found some sticks, seed pods and pine cones to put in his bucket. He kept looking up at me and saying "walk-n, mama"!

Nature walks! I call them that, too. We were going to discuss shapes but he had such a good time investigating and walking that it didn't seem necessary. We are going to do them regularly this year.
There isn't any in my neighborhood, but lots of suburbs and some sections of the city got hit very hard. I think the rivers are still very high....there must be standing water in some places still.
They had to reverse the direction of the Chicago River, which they do when we get sustained downpours and the Deep Tunnel system can't handle all the rain. Normally Lake Michigan flows into the Chicago River. But every once in awhile they do the thing with the locks which sends the River flowing back into the lake, which means storm runoff AND sewage goes into the lake. Where Chicago gets its water supply.
I'm still drinking tap water....haven't noticed any strange objects in it.

Saturday. The mister and I actually went on a walk. First post procedure anything. It was short, but good. I thought of Evie.

They would issue a boil order if it were necessary. At least, one hopes. I don't think a Brita filter catches the raw sewage!

I walked to the grocery and back maybe 1.5 miles. It was lovely out, I love it when it's 24°.
Plus in these temps your ice cream doesn't melt.

Mr. E and I usually take a daily walk. Being summer here in Australia, we walk in the evening because it's cooler. Lately (since Christmas), I've made all sorts of pathetic excuses as to why I can't do a walk.
I parked a half mile away from school and walked through the cold this morning to work. It was lovely.

For the moment.
Yesterday, there was a cool change after the weekend heat. A jaunty breeze was blowing in the morning. I walked what I refer to as the street library walk. I managed to find a couple of books. One in particular caught my eye because the title 'Still Life' by Sara Winman was of the same title as a British movie Mr. E and I had watched the previous night. It turns out it is not the same story, but if you enjoy a touching, quiet tale, I would find the movie and an unhurried piece of time to watch it. https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2...
Lobstergirl wrote: "Evie, is that a regular library, or Little Free Libraries on the street?"Little Free Libraries, LG. There are a few scattered around the streets where I live.
