Should we each nominate another one so we have 8 choices?

And that's saying something! ;)

Sounds good! I'll pick Brown-Eyed Devil by Evan Gilbert

It was a nice enough story, but I never connected with it. I didn't care about the characters, what they did or wh..."

Wow, I think this might be the most we've ever disagreed about a book! :P Oh, well, it had to happen sometime...

As for a second pick, I'll go with Masters & Boyd

MountainKat | 31763 comments We can't all agree all the time!

What about The Nothingness of Ben?

Really? I thought we pretty much did... :D

message 57: by MountainKat, Moderator (new) - rated it 3 stars

MountainKat | 31763 comments Well, we usually do - very closely anyway, but we don't have to! Really, we could be a little different every now and then! At least I think we could... =P

Fran | 12285 comments I will choose a Hot Summer Days duo (since they are both short)

Just One Kiss by Lisa Worrall , Surf's Up by Sarah Madison

message 59: by Breann (new)

Breann | 398 comments Well, that gives us 8! I'll see what Mr. Randomizer says...

message 60: by Breann (new)

Breann | 398 comments :::drumroll:::

Just One Kiss by Lisa Worrall & Surf's Up by Sarah Madison

will be our M/M buddy reads for next month! Yay! That means they're free for all of us :D

message 61: by Fran, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

Fran | 12285 comments I hope those are ok with everyone! I threw them in because I couldn't find another freebie full length novel I wanted to read or one that one of us hasn't already read.

message 62: by Breann (new)

Breann | 398 comments They work for me! I've been trying to get through some of the Don't Read in the Closet stories.

message 63: by Breann (new)

Breann | 398 comments Do you happen to know which anthology(s) they might be in?

message 64: by Fran, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

Fran | 12285 comments Oh good! Those two have been on my tbr for awhile :)

message 65: by Fran, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

~KarenH~ | 11373 comments Holy cow Fran, what are you doing up at this hour???

message 70: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jane (PS) | 24338 comments I'm happy with the books :)

Sorry I haven't been able to participate, but we are really busy at work and I'm working 4 days this week (gasps in horror!) I don't get to donors than check updates very infrequently on my phone...

I know! I just couldn't fall asleep, kept grabbing the kindle Fire and back onto GR I went :)

Fran | 12285 comments Finally getting to this one! Still have a week so I'm good :)

Breann, I noticed you will be reading Acrobat in August. Jane gave it to me for the PIFM this month but I didn't get to it. I will try for August.

Kat, I would still like to read City Mouse in August if you want to. Or I could wait for Sept.

message 73: by Fran, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

Fran | 12285 comments I can use City Mouse or Acrobat for 'A' in the monthly.

I think that is a great idea!

message 75: by Fran, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

Fran | 12285 comments I finished it last night. I really liked it. I cried through the last 10% or so. The scenes with Joe's parents really got to me. I agree that more of Joe and Lou would have been nice to really get the feel for their romance. But the scenes with and about his Mom and Dad, his Grandparents...waterworks for me. A solid 4 stars.

message 76: by Breann (new)

Breann | 398 comments Glad you were able to fit it in and that you enjoyed it! :) I wasn't even close to crying... I dunno, just didn't connect with this one. At all.

I am planning on reading that one next month! Let me know if you are and we can buddy it :)

Great! I may not be able to get to it until the middle/end of August, so if you want to read it earlier, please do, and we can always chat about it when I finish :)

Fran | 12285 comments Does anyone have City Mouse I can borrow ?

I should have checked my lending group, no one has it to lend. Can I borrow it from you Kat after you read it in August if no one else has it?

Thanks in advance if anyone has it to lend!

Sure! I have been waiting to pick it up until I get my rewards from my credit card - yep, that's how I fund my reading! =P They should be in my box, but I just need to go down and check...

message 81: by Fran, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

Fran | 12285 comments Kat, I thought you had it already. It's expensive for about 115 pages. I think it's 5.99 on Amazon. Maybe you can borrow it too.

message 82: by MountainKat, Moderator (new) - rated it 3 stars

MountainKat | 31763 comments Yeah, it is expensive, but I want to read it so I'm not opposed to buying it. And it is sort of like free money - at least that is what I tell myself!
