Hmm, that's a difficult one. The Discworld books have similar humor, but they don't really explore new worlds except one, the Discworld.Asimov's Foundation series explores new worlds, but not similar in humor at all. Same goes with Dune. I can't think of any books that combine the humor with exploring new worlds, however.
You may like Robert Asprin: Phule's CompanyRobert Sheckley is great in the humor department, but he did his best work in short story format.
Mick Resnick comes to mind, too.

Are there any good, funny books about exploring new planets or worlds? Like in the Hitchhikers guide books or the Dr. Who Show? Another huge factor would that the book has about the same humor as both :)
